Thumbs up HPR Lapping Day - Wheee!!

So Bladecutter and I went to the track on Friday, 09/25. He took his Porsche Boxster and I had the Crossfire.

I drove my Crossfire the whole time this trip and hot damn, an addict is born!! My roadster is stock with the exception of a new set of EBC red stuff brake pads and my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (summer rubber).

Some observations:

Being a driver is infinitely more fun then being a passenger. Okay, I actually already knew that one but wondered if I had what it takes to push my car that hard. Ummm...I do! And I can't wait to do it again...and again...and again. Savings are overrated!

Bladecutter is a superb track coach. Thanks to his guidance I was able to drive better then I ever have before - and screaming around crazy off-camber, elevation changing curves in a quick as hell convertible is almost the most fun a person can have with their clothes on!

I DO have cajones! Okay, not real ones but I have more "guts" then I suspected. Once I was behind the wheel and out there, it just felt completely natural. The car handled great - really responding well to my input. Yes, there are cars out there that handle better but truly, I am very, very pleased with how my beauty did.

Yay for EBC red stuff! Much better grip, hardly any brake dust and no smokies when I pulled into pit (unlike the stockers which stunk up the whole area and smoked worse then my mother when Bladecutter took the Crossfire to the track awhile back).

Colorado Crossfires need to represent! Guys (and girls if we have any others here locally) - you will NOT regret the experience. You get to push your car as hard as you dare and no worries of losing your license afterwards! It really is more fun then I can even attempt to explain. Permagrin is guaranteed. http://www.highplainsraceway.com/ima...map-large3.gif
Hell on a bobsled was my favorite part this trip. Wheeee!

Here's some lap footage direct to you from Bladecutter's front bumper :

Sorry about the wind noise - it IS the front bumper after all.

Like I said, there are off camber turns, decreasing radius turns, sweepers, chicanes, elevation changes, a nice back straight to really get your speed up. It may be hard to tell from the footage but it is like piloting your own rollercoaster car - just unbelievably fun.

Unfortunately you won't see my roadster's sexy **** in that footage but next time you will! :-)
