Ok. Lets talk about tire pressures. I have the Nitto Invos and on the rear it is oversized 275/35/19 so I have to run extra air or I can feel the rear tires wondering because of the extra rubber. I'm thinking about running 50 psi on the fronts and 40 in the rear for the mile. What did you guys run for tire pressure?
I still want to see your recommendations for tire pressure and if I should use the auto stick to shift closer to redline. Thanks!
Just put it in first for the take off and let it do the shifting... it will be right at red like if you have your foot to the floor...... which I presume is the plan once you get it rolling...
Thanks! I did a practice run entering the freeway today and the tranny did shift at redline by putting the car in 1st. But I knew it would

Is anyone coming to this event? I wouldn't mind having a 2nd camera there. My wife gets distracted with the kids and sometimes the videos turn out bad.
I don't see you on the list ..... wait, what did you run, the Cobra?

Wish I could go do that....I know we can at least do 160 as we have measured it, but haven't tried to shut down in a half mile yet....lol....better have some good brakes...
wont need a half mile doc. at the texas mile you have 8 seconds to get it stopped as theres a 90* turn at the end of the runway!!!
check out jerrys m5 video as watch for the bump at the end!

Factory SRT6 brakes performed excellent with no fading or issues.
When I ran, there was no cell service or internet connection. The airport is way out from a small town. Had to wait until back at the hotel.
Sponsers didn't post times on their website until 3-4 weeks after the event..

Hey yes it was a lot of fun! Starting with the bad news, the weather was 92, track temp was 98 and the wind was head on at 22-30 mph. I ran almost the same speed 4 times with the best at 126.6 mph. Yeah I'm sad about it, maybe I should have used the NOS. Good news I did 4 passes, I got 109 octane gas, I beat the Lotus Elise speed of 121 mph and almost beat a new Nissan Z he got 130 mph with more than 100 HP than me. So the moral of the story is, It is fun next time use NOS and go in the winter with no wind. Right?

Thanks for the report. Sorry for the heat and head wind.Sounds like under the conditions your times were good. Fun factor made it worth while. Way to go!

A. Too bad about the wind. Did anyone use a drag chute? Did it stop them in their tracks?
B. Did you need to purchase all the equipment you did?
C. Is the track really as rough as it appears, or were you just peddling as hard as you could?
D. Were there any other Xfires there and what were their results?
E. Can you pass any info on 1/4 mile strips in your area?
Bless
John P
