Default Disconnecting the rear sway bar.

Has anyone tried it? That's what I have planned for this weekend at the track. I'm still too loose getting on the gas and plan to test a couple of things. The most exciting and interesting (to me) is seeing what happens with the rear sway bar disconnected. I feel like the rear bar has such a pre load on it from lowering that it's hurting more than helping. My curiosity got peaked after a chat with a 350Z owner that has an adjustable rear sway bar and praised the night and day positive difference softening the bar made. So we'll see what if anything I find out. No, I don't plan to eliminate the rear bar, I hope to have adjustable links in the near future so I can tune the handling or the rear of the car. Updates will be coming after Sunday.

I have a heavy front bar. Making the front stiffer has a similar result to loosening the rear. Let me know how your test goes, very interested.

Let's see what happens. I already raised the back of the car a little so I'll run a heat with the bar connected first and disconnect it for the 2nd. heat. If it goes well, I'll leave it disconnected for the 3rd and 4th heats. (80 minutes of track time ...... OOOO Yeah)

but the sway bar links are easy to disconnect or remove... just one bolt and one nut.... they are made of plastic!! High tech plastic but it just seemed odd to me..... maybe some adjustable ones will show up soon....

I was talked out of disconnecting the bar by the track inspectors. I should have kept my mouth shut and just done it. Lifting the rear of the car a bit made a noticeable difference. Less preload on the sway bar. The car performed spectacularly. I caught and passed a GTR (700 HP street tune) (he has a 1000 HP race tune BTW) but the blank blank GoPro POS didn't record that heat. I love and hate the GoPro. I think there's a lot to be gained with adjustable links and plan to have one of the first sets ....... please? I was the fasted thing on the track today. Lot's of interest in the Crossfire, and driver. I admit it, it feels good, and I finally think I deserve some of it. I'm dreaming of purple crack (Hoosiers) but the little woman says, honey, xxxxxxxxxxxxx NO CAN DO!

The term 'little woman' would get me a smack up against the side of my head.

For me it's a term of endearment.

"What side would you like your limp on sir?"
