Button Willow Raceway Open Testing 12/11-12
Anyone wishing to join us for open track testing of our Crossfires at Button Willow Raceway, Button Willow, CA on December 11th & 12th, let me know ASAP...
We will be working on suspension set-ups primarily and evaluating gearing for this track for future SCCA CS DS events. We will be arriving late Friday night and staying at the HOMELAND INN
20688 Tracy Ave.
Buttonwillow, CA 93206
661-764-5207
You can get info for the track etc via the following link. http://www.buttonwillowraceway.com
You will be required to wear a Snell SA95 or SA2000 helmet to run the track and will be required to go through a tech inspection to make sure your car is in safe condition... The cost is only $100 per car and $75 per driver for both days... You should get about 6 - 20 minute runs per day...
This is a great track for your Crossfire, even if you have not done any mods... This is not a race, only testing... We will have lap timing for your testing purposes only...

Buttonwillow Raceway was great, but now I need some new tires. I was really impressed with the set-up of my car with the Eibach / Koni combination and -.5 camber, but now I am considering the Eibach, SLK Anti-Roll Kit if it will adapt to the Crossfire, because of some front-end roll on high speed turns which caused a bit more understeer than I would like.
I went head to head with two MAZDA SPEED, race prepared RX8's and ended-up smoking both of them. I was really proud of the Crossfire until I found out the drivers were rookie students out for classes
talk about bursting your bubble
I was also very surprised when the track manager Wayne Smith and his corner workers came-up and started complimenting the look of the Crossfire and asking me alot of questions. It seems I was the first Crossfire to test at the track.
All-in-all a great day of track time with only a few high speed spinouts early in the morning due to wet track conditions from a heavy layer of fog and a much heavier foot than I should have had.
PS: please note my VIN # because If I ever sell the car, I surely don't want any of the forum members buying it after the beating I gave it today !!!
