Question has anyone stripped a crossfire convertible for chump car racing

After stripping and adding the roll cage etc, how much did it weight. I'm asking because I may buy a roadster with 66k miles on it for road racing.
thanks

a) a coupe will be stiffer and weighs less
b) an SLK230 (85hp) has a point value of 500. Have you asked for an eval of the Crossfire ? It is not listed.

Yes, a coup would be stiffer and also lighter. The thing is, I can buy back my wife's totaled 2006 with little damage, from a dear hit for $1,600. The car has maybe only 66k miles on it. On the downside, it has an automatic trans. however in chump car racing that will give us something like 100 points!

Is the usual reason for interesting builds. Also roadster is easier to add a roll cage and cooler to drive. NAG-1 automagic is not that bad if you add a trans cooler since can slap shift.

Big plus is that is a lot less than I'd sell my six-speed coupe for.

Keep us informed particularly how they rate your Crossfire.

ps " from a dear hit " - was that deliberate ?
