Default drift

well it snowed last night here in delaware so me and my buddies went out for some drifting! turned the tc off and man this car is nice! its stiff and handles really well in the snow. well with a light covering of snow. i hope to do it again with pictures for you guys! maybe even some videos the only thing that sucked, when the tires spun to much it seemed the TC wanted to keep kicking in! damn traction control.

Yep... Even though you turn it off, it'll still kick-in at some point... Trust me, it's annoying as hell on the track, especially since it's tied-in with the ABS...

stick with the stock all season tires, no weight in the back. i found if you shift in a high rpm in first two second the tires will break loose around corners. you'll slide real well this way. also you can do the drifting way from downshifting from third or ect to a lower gear kicks the back out around corners. but its better to do it out when there water or snow to save tires cuz 19s ain't cheap!

You don't need snow/ice to break the back end out. You can break them when its summer on dry pavement going straight from 1-2, and 2-3. And you shouldn't even have to shift to break whip the end out, just keep it in 2nd the whole time.

I have a 6 speed with the performance tires, and I almost need a third hand, one to steer, one to shift, and one to switch the TC on and off. Playing around with the tc back and forth while try to start seems to help. These tires are terrible in snow. Going around 15 in third, coasting, and then flooring it you can kick the back end out with TC off. Fun when you want, but usually sux if you get caught in the snow.

Snow might save the tires but just watch those snow cover curbs, 19" wheels aren't cheap either.

the only place i do it is a empty parking lot with lots of room, so you don't have to worry about running into a pole. streets and neighborhoods just aren't safe no matter how good you may be.

Well, If you're interested... I was just notified that the SCCA has picked-up Formula D "Drifting" for the 2006 season. You now have a sanctioning body to drift you car in national competition...
