I got picked on, three times today!
Wow, I am actually glad to get picked on. People in the weirdest of cars tried picking on me today, and last night I got to eat rice. MMMMMM... Well last night, coming home from work at 11:00 pm I ran across a little civic. Played cat and mouse for a few miles, at 65 (10 over the limit) then I would punch it to around 100. Then finally, I caught a red light. Well I thought for sure, the speeds and how long we played back and forth for that he was dying to catch a light. This car had full body kit, rims, fart can, decals, tint, and UNDERGLOW. Looked like a silver christmas tree going down the road.
Anyways, i rev up a little, and i hear the fart can, thinking he's doing the same, and hoping he ain't turbo'd. I guess he saw enough playing cat and mouse that he couldn't hang, and he didn't even try. I took of hard anyways, got far enough down the road that i had time to do a u-turn (through a median) and go by in the other direction. Now today! On my way back from lunch going to work I ran into a little silverado. I was doing 10 over like always, and this old as* hillbilly looking dude flies by in his truck, had it been a hemi, it would be part acceptable. But a chevy? Needless to say he flew by and I decided this can't happen. So I punched it from about 40 all the way to around 75 to catch up to him. Then when i did, i stayed by his side, inched forward slowly, and when I hit the open stretch with no cops, it was bye bye chevy. And just now coming home from work I had an old chevy caprice and 01+ stratus rt playing around trying to challenge me on the same road as the truck and civic. Well after following them for like two miles at like 90 mph (limit 65) I decided enough of follow the leader and pulled along side. Before I knew it there I was at a red light lined up on the end with caprice next to me and the stratus on the far left. Wow, they either didn't try, saw they got killed off the line and gave up, or got their as*es handed to them hardcore.
Either way, all summer me an my buddy drove around and could never get anyone to run or mess around with us. Now in the middle of winter at below freezing temps, the kids want to play. Had there been any snow or ice left, i probably wouldn't of ran, or it would have been a little different, bad enough that the tires wouldn't hook up until i shifted to fourth at like 65-70 mph. But I'm happy. Nothing like eating chevy crap, or cold rice. And unfortunately, I had to pick on a little cousin (stratus). But it must of been confused, it had a fart can. Maybe his whooping he got will put him in place, and he'll loose the fart can.

hey hey don't bust my friend has a 553 hp to the whp civic! but yeah other than that they suck! they run like 16.2 in the quarter i just ate a h22 prelude last night on i95 and the guy had enought ***** to pass me when i slowed down and turn on his blinkers like he won lol! darn kids.
Don't get me wrong, I know civics can be nice cars, when done right. But what's the ratio of really nicely done civics, to the ones that are annoying rice? Now a civic that runs 10's and 11's, that's not rice in my books, and I have seen civics like that online. But i'm talking about the ones that are in high school parking lots, sounding like a riding lawn mower. Like the one I ran across, and the ones that I always run across.
I don't get it. 500 hp in a Civic cost how much money? Could at least throw it in an Acura shell!
Then again, there would be something cool about saying, "my Civic beat a Viper in the 1/4 mile."

find a newer gt stang low miles for around 15k, and drop, that extra 15k or so + price of the civic, in the stang, and you'll have a real nice ride. $15k+ in mods on a stang gt should get you close to those times easily if not better. and I don't think you can ever beat that raw v8 power

On the 30k mark, you could buy a '03 cobra for around 23k various bolt ons and a Kenne Bell 2.4L twin screw. Now you have a serious 10 second ride with over 600 whp. And can still drive it daily.

As for them being faster, the way I see it, you can go as fast as you want to spend, no matter what you're driving. But if I go to the drags in my "stock" Viper. And get beat by a Stang, that isn't "stock", all that says is that he spent money to "modify" his car, and I didn't. And when the day is over, I go home in a Viper, and he goes home in just another Mustang. Sure, he goes home the Winner! But trust me, it's really hard to feel like a "loser" when your driving a Viper.

Of course, as with any car, (especially a high performance car) you want to check it out as much as possible before you buy it. But I doubt if it's any harder to find a Viper that hasn't been abused, than it is to find a good used Mustang. And do you really think a Civic that is so pumped up that it turns in the 11's is going to be any more dependable than a V-10 Dodge that was originally designed to take some "heavy handed" treatment right from the factory?

I am just not seeing these prices for 23k on an '03 cobra with a kb. I guess it is possible, but all I see is for at least 25k. How about insurance for the car. How was the insurance rates on your cobra? Those things are beasts, and sound like it too. I always know when I am hearing a cobra, it is pretty awesome. I guess good luck finding a babied '03 cobra, but like anything else, you have to look hard for exactly what you want with used cars.

But my rate was right with my STi as far as insurance, full coverage $130 a month.
