Default Race Across the US

Does anyone know if there is a race like the Gumball 3000 that is just in the US? I know this year the gumball is coming to the US but its $40,000 and starts in London, then Asia then to the US but you have to do all 3 legs of the race. Any info would be great. Thanks

The only thing that I know of (that comes close) is the One Lap of America race. It's not a race on public roads, but a tour from race track to race track within a week period. While the competition moves across the country, the racing is only done on the tracks. From what I've read it's grueling, people are tired, cars get beat up. But, it makes for great reading in Car & Driver. Visit their website for more details.

I was just reading about that. It sounds fun and the fee is about $3,000 compared to $40,000. It would be fun to get all the crossfire owners together for a trip across the US. its a stretch but could be fun.

MTV's show True Life did a show about the AKA rally a while ago. This June they are going from Vegas to DC.
