Yes, take the fan out and use your air compressor to blow off the squirrel fan blades.
That should reduce the noise.
While you have it out, put some clock oil on the bearings also.
I assume you have already removed the wiper cowl cover and attacked all the debris and cleaned out the four drain tubes ?

( how's the new top doing ? )

While changing the resistor pack can solve the intermittent fan operation, another cause is the poor connection between boards within the HVAC Control Module in the center console. There is an excellent DIY "write up" by CL770 on this repair in the Forum. 180 also has a copy of this on his page of Crossfire documentation.

[b]Decorated I decorated it and put a new cabin filter in my 08 blue convertible.
I now have about 17 large flowers on it than I tried to fix the back window that's falling out

Thanks for the suggestion. My resistor pack arrives Friday, so I'll have a chance to check it out...especially since I have some new actions based on comments from ala_xfire. Looks like a busy weekend.

I agree with your perspective. There are quite a few quality tire brands out there that are much less cost than the traditional "name" brands. And in many cases, these lower cost tires perform equally as well, with some even having performance results that exceed the "name" brands. One really has to have their driving style known, along with the overall driving demands they are seeking, in order to identify a tire choice. In my case, where I only take the car out for a "spirited-like" driving event only a couple of times a year, spending big bucks for tires isn't cost justified. However, I realize branding is important to many folks and those "name" brand tires are counting on that to sell their more expensive tires.

This morning, I finished up some yard work behind the house. So right after, I thought I would wash & towel dry the Crossfire Coupe. I always get a kick out of seeing the Crossfire clean & ready for a drive. We'll probably go out for a ride this evening once the sun goes down some.

Thinking about attending a "Cruise In" at a local Bojangles on Saturday from 0900 - 1300. So today I cleaned under the hood and applied CD-2 detailer spray (still have a couple of cans on the garage shelf).

Today I had my 3rd set of Hankook Tires installed on the rears.
I again went with the larger size of 285/35/19
This last set of these seen below gave me 26,071 miles until the wear bars were making contact with the street which makes them begin to make a howling noise at high speed.
With the new ones on now it's again very quiet.

The old and the new Hankook summer tires seen here.
As you can see I really have minimal camber wear issues on this set of tires after 26,071 miles on them and have not ever had camber wear problems over my 90,000 miles over the past 10 years.
All this without ever having an alignment or any mods to my suspension

And the new ones

Took her out of underground storage... decided the vibration is probably the wheel spacers, and ordered new H&R spacers because they got good press here. UPDATE- So darn frustrated... new wheel bearings, New half-shafts, new drive-line flex-disks, carrier bearing, universal and balancing, numerous tools, bushings and many hours.... and the entire time the vibration was because the PO used cheap wheel spacers. I honestly should have known better earlier... always go back to the last thing someone did and dig into it first.

Put Romy back in the garage with her Italian cousin Sophia

Very different wheels you have there , never seen those before .
Looks good. I quite like that single exhaust tip.

That plastic below the windshield looks like it needs a coat of Mcguires "Gold class" plastic protect on it, it will bring it back like new !

Made mount for Kenwood 8182 FRS radio from pizzaguy :

This is the bottom mount side, notice the use of old PC slot fillers as the mounts. I decided to mount the radio on the bottom for 2 reasons, there is better air circulation for the cooling fins and I also gain a nice little shelf for the microphone :

You will notice I resorted to MDF plywood after several abortive attempts to use plexiglass, I was never able to bend it successfully, it's all going to be painted black anyway.

Here is the top side with the stiffening shelf brace :

I ran the wires up inside the right side of the dash and connected to the glove box light, which is on a 15 amp fuse along with the cigarette lighter.
I use the pocket on the bulkhead to store all the extra cabling, like the antenna cable.
This contraption is mounted with the two Torx screws that were formally used to mount the coat hooks.

No screws or bolts, all blind ( pop ) rivets.

I'll post more pictures when it is painted and mounted.

Those are actually caliper covers produced by MGP. Had a set of Gloss Black on before, but they never really stood out much. The Gloss Yellow is more of an attention getter. Thanks for the feedback.
