How many miles on your Crossfire?
Re: How many miles on your Crossfire?
Approx 66,000. Have had the car for about a year and put on about 10,000 miles. No significant issues. My valve covers are leaking slightly, but not enough for me to really worry about them yet. Not enough to even measure and nothing dripping on the ground. Just a slight sheen on the metal and can smell it occasionally. Did the throttle body mod and MAF housing, MB engine cover w/ bigger intake tubes, and a eurocharged tune. Base model with a stick. Pulls damn hard in 3rd and 4th gears. Have put in a kenwood head unit, just ordered the rear cargo cover, and will put in a subwoofer next week. Eventually considering doing a limited seat swap, but seems kind of pointless because my seats are in perfect shape.

Tell us what you've replaced on your car and how is your transmission holding up?

Alright I'm back. Sorry for not responding sooner. I've just starting feeling like playing with my old friend and now I just can't stop. My latest project is interior repair/upgrades. I would not repair replace anything inside until the car was once again mechanically sound. (By my standards) I think I posted awhile back some of the repairs I had done on the car, but not much of anything. At least nothing major. No engine repairs nor Transmission. (Except a new clutch and not even the clutch. The slave cylinder.) I will attempt a quick list of things I have done. At the end I might just blow your mind with what I found out about the radio. And I will attempt to post a pic of the odometer and the interior.
Shocks
Ignition fix from this forum
Door Handle Pull this forum
Clutch (AMS for SLK320 Modified to fit Crossfire) (don't ask)
Motor Mounts (A *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Rear sway bay bracket broke (Cut the Sway bar off) Yes, no sway (anti-Roll bar)
Complete coolant flush and thermostat replaced
Belt Tensioner damper replace
Cracked rear caliper (my dumb ***) when I first purchased 11+ years ago
Replaced one front wheel due low or soft shoulder on road
Radiator and fan due old fan wearing out.

BTW, that's the original paint job. Now the radio and Ashtray. I did a teardown on the radio and swap the logic boards from one I purchased from salvage yard. Now my CD drive works and number 8 preset button. Took ashtray and removed the silver rollup thing now tray stays put. I don't smoke anyway.

Re: How many miles on your Crossfire?
I must give Mercedes their props, they made a strong car. If you take care of it and do all the maintenance, but most importantly have a group of top notch guys in a forum this forum (THE Crossfire forum) who are willing to help at all costs, this thing might just make 500,000 miles. All of you guys are the best and I truly appreciate you all.
Re: How many miles on your Crossfire?
Tranny is still strong, I changed the clutch at 250,000 or so miles. You guys will never really know how strong a car this is. I have put it to the test. Not for fun, but because I had too.

Re: How many miles on your Crossfire?
Hi
I have 128400 miles on the clock of my 2004 Coupe, not bad from a country with 80 miles of motorway and the rest single/dual carriageways.
Blaze Red and have it from new. Broke down twice, ECU 4 years ago and recently the alternator pulley wheel came of, both rear Brake Calipers and the only major parts I had to replace. The heated seats don't work now, will check it out before winter, otherwise a great little car.
The odd spot of rust in the rear wheel arches is the only time it has been in the paint shop.
Max speed 140mph, only once, before I chickened out.
