Hey Glenn,

I just spoke with my wife and we would love to come along for the ride Saturday. Just let me know where to meet and what time, we will be there. Thanks and look forward to it.

Glenn, how about meeting somewhere north of the city, and driving up together, as some of us don't know the area that well. Last time we went to Huntsville, we met in the Woodlands, and Miles showed us some backroads up there.
Just a suggestion, if anybody else knows their way around these type of roads, Oh and a time would be a good thing ............. :O)

Meeting somewhere works great for us. I have never been there and think driving together sounds like more fun. Let us know a time and place and we will be there. Thanks

Brilliant idea. Why don't we meet at Papas Ice House? That's the place we went to on our last GTG. It is right off of I45 if you recall. For those that were not with us the last time the address is 314 Pruitt Rd. The Woodlands, TX. We will meet there at 3ish, maybe have a beer and head up North.

Does this sound like a plan?

The meet-up sounds good to me, I have given directions to Tomtazz.

are we going to take our own food for the picnic, or is the plan to all take a dish, and share, or are we even having food, going for a drive, then eating later someplace ?
Anyone want to clarify what we should do ?
Cheers

I welcome any other suggestions, but this is what I envisoned:

1) We meet at Papas Ice House at 3 and hang there for a little bit waiting for everyone to arrive.

2) We depart sometime between 3:30 and 4 depending who has shown up so far and how much beer is left in our glass.

3) It is about another 45 minute drive up to Huntsville from there, so we will get there before 5.

4) We bring our own food and beverages, but of course if we want to share, I am all for it

5) We depart Huntsville no later than 7PM and if we want to hang out some more, we can go back to Papas or another establishmnet of your choice.

What does everyone else think?

Sounds good to us, See y'all at the Icehouse, so we can get some practice in first.

Tom,

Regarding the picnic, read "Marine05" latest post regarding the plan for the picnic.

Glenn,

If you are going to plan on a 45 minute cruise to Huntsville (or return), you will need to stay on IH 45. If you get the back roads it can take twice as long.

Sounds like a plan to us. I am hoping my throat infection is gone by then. I have been home sick for the last two days. See everyone there.

My navigator shows a "Papas Ice House" at 314 Pruitt Rd Spring Tx. Google maps indicates this location on the west side of I45 just north of the Hardy tollway intersection.

And people are meeting there (at the bar) at 3pm today.

Does this sound right?

Great pictures Tom. So glad you guys were able to make it. Nice meeting you too Brian (The Beep). Hey Nathan, I hope we did not leave you stranded? We waited until 3:40 at Papas before leaving. Ben, hope everything is OK at the home front and Miles, hope to see you again at our next GTG.

For those who could not join us, we could not ask for a better day. Check out TomTazz pictures, they look Great!

See you all next month, if not sooner. Hey Ben, we thought we would give you a break and head South in October. Kema was mentioned.

Sorry yall I didn't make it. I spent the morning washing/waxing the xfire but something came up and I couldn't make it. The pictures look awesome. The one of Tom's xfire in the grass looks like a painting. Kemah or maybe even Galveston sounds like a fun GTG for next month.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I'm sorry I missed the GTG.

A couple of the photos ought to be considered for the next XFire calendar, assuming there will be one.
