Default CTC Nov. 15 GTG

There was no GTG in October. Normally the GTG would be the second Sunday of the month which would be Nov. 8th. It seems that a number of our members are unable to attend that day. To ensure we have a decent turnout, what would be the best date in November to have a successful GTG with as many Xfires as possible?

I think 15 Nov may be best. Any later and you will run in to Thanksgiving travel plans.

Ron is correct, 15 November would be a good date. Now should we plan for the trip we were going to do in October? On the north side of Lake Travis. The road is similar to the New Bruansfels River Road run with a lot of hairpin turns, It was a fun run hard on brakes and then hard on the gas. We meet at Lakeline Mall near Lakeway, make the run and then eat at the Oasis (Just off RM620) on Lake Travis. I'll start the list.

I think that sounds good, maybe we can get a few more of the Austin area cars to come out.

Yeah, it sure seems like there is not much interest in a GTG, no one else has chimed in on this. Are then any members or non members that plan on going?

I'm not sure of the best route to insure a nice twisty ride to the Oasis from the Lakeline Mall, so I hope someone can chime in here. I would guess we meet at about 11:00 at Lakeline Mall. It is located at 11200 Lakeline Mall Drive if some wants to GPS it at the old Ultimate Electronics as we did before by HWY 183 and RR 620. Another restaurant as we did before Carlos and Charlies is good.

I'd like to see a route map or itinerary. Remember, I live on the other side of the Rockies

From Lakeline Mall go south on South Lakeline Blvd, Right on Cypress Creek Rd, right on Anderson Mill Rd, Left on Lime Creek Rd (becomes FM2769), Right at Bullock Hollow Rd, Right on Oasis Bluff Dr,Left on Comanche Trail 6550 Comanche Trail.

MAP: from:Lakeline Mall Dr, Austin, Williamson, Texas to:Frontage Rd to:S Lakeline Blvd to:30.484776,-97.868271 to:6550 Comanche Trail, austin texas - Google Maps

This is probably what I would set up, Meeting at Barton Creek Mall out 360 to 2222 and out. JMHO

MAP: from:2901 S Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, Travis, Texas 78746 to:TX-360 Loop N to:30.418184,-97.847672 to:Lime Creek Rd to:6550 Comanche Trail, austin texas - Google Maps

Paul, I like your plan better, it allows for a more enjoyable ride. I knew you would come through. I hope you are going.

Meeting at Barton Creek Mall out 360 to 2222 and out. JMHO

from:2901 S Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, Travis, Texas 78746 to:TX-360 Loop N to:30.418184,-97.847672 to:Lime Creek Rd to:6550 Comanche Trail, austin texas - Google Maps

I propose this for the November CTC GTG:

Meet at Barton Creek Mall (Sears South parking) at 10:00am. Take 360 to 2222 and 620 to Anderson Mills and out to Volente and back to the Oasis. That should put us at the Oasis around 11:30 - 12:00 depending on photo stops.

MAP: from:2901 S Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, Travis, Texas 78746 to:TX-360 Loop N to:30.418184,-97.847672 to:Lime Creek Rd to:6550 Comanche Trail, austin texas - Google Maps

When we leave the restaurant the group could if some wanted take 620 to 71 then over to Hamilton Pool Rd to 12 and just past Dripping Springs take 150 back to Buda and I35. Just a thought.

MAP: from:Comanche Trail to:Farm to Market 620 W/Ranch to Market 620 W to:Hamilton Pool Rd/Ranch Rd 3238 to:30.241124,-98.062677 to:buda texas - Google Maps

I have run these roads, (Out by Volente to Oasis weekend before last and 12 and 150 just last weekend) it will be a nice run

The List

1.Bill
2.Ron
3.John
4.Paul (maybe)
5.

Hey guys. I will see if I will be able to make it, but my wife left last week and now I am in the beginnings of a divorce. So of course I am having some personal issues. I may have a ca for sale too, if there is any interest, because without my wifes SUV I will probably need a truck.
