Default Rottin' Eggs?

Ok gang, ever since I've had my car I get the smell of rottin' eggs after hard acceleration. I think that it's related to the catalitic converter but is it normal? Do you get smell it as well? (Performance does not seem to be affected- runs great)

BTW... totally stock exhaust on my '06 Limited coupe. It sounds just exactly like other cars and yes, it has a nice roar when I get on it hard.

Any response appreciated...

Try a different brand of gasoline. Some brands may have a higher sulfur content.

I have also noticed this once in awhile after running in excess of 100mph
No concerns here.

Rotten eggs? That'll be your catalytic converter working hard then

There's a Skunk trying to stay warm by sleeping in your engine compartment. When you step on it you scare the stuff out of him.

I get the same thing and really notice it with the top down (especially when following other XF's!).

Never noticed it in my car...perhaps you all need to switch to sweet-smelling manual transmissions?

Or maybe lay off the beans before driving?

Naw, you just need to floor it more and hit those high RPMs!

Lol, now Itsky - you know me and the rev limiter - Stu - are on a first name basis! And that would be for "Roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, whammo rev limiter, hullo STUpid, STUttering, damn piece of "SHIFT" ahhhh, excellent, wheeee, roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, whammo rev limiter, hullo STUpid....you get the picture, lol.

I am kidding now but I swear, when I first got the car, I really had to retrain myself to shift nearly immediately from 1st to 2nd when taking off. I was so used to the PT taking considerably more time to ramp up. Had the same problem going from the Ninja 250 to the Ducati M750 and the 696. But now I has the power...and we all know that power corrupts...flooring it not really a problem here!

I still think you guys just have stinky automatics...hee, hee!

I've never noticed the smell with either the automatic or the stick. I always drive em hard, keeps the cob webs out. I do have the 'STU' problem though. God I hate rev limiters and traction control too.
