Default CTC March GTG Hill Country Kerrville, TX

John suggested we do the scenic route after Lunch at the Inn of the Hills in the Alpine Lodge Restaurant. He recommends we do the GTG on Saturday Mar. 13th as the Buffet is only $9.95 vs $15.95 on Sunday. The scenic route will be taken through Kerrville on 27 to Hunt onto 39 make a stop at Stonehenge II for tour and photo op. We'll continue on 39 to 187 toward Lost Maples and Vanderpool, then to 337 towards Medina onto 16 then to 2828 to Camp Verde. Camp Verde has a interesting General Store if we would like to stop there to look around. After that on to 480 to 27 toward Comfort the end of the Journey and on our merry way back home. If the 13th is not good then we could schedule it on the 20th to ensure a good turnout. All Crossfire owners are welcome to join us. Vote for the 13th or the 20th!

Doggonitall, John and I discussed this earlier this week- The buffet will be great, the route is great and the Camp Verde store is fun, especially for the ladyfolk.

And of course we already have plans for that weekend- we'll be in Boerne at an RV rally!

We hate to miss this one.

RV Rally vs Crossfire GTG
Sorry you'll miss another one. I think we need your schedule.
I'm taking a vote for the 13th or the 20th?

Put your feed bag on and don't miss this. Get your $$ worth on dessert alone. I can make arrangements for setaside parking, the earlier a date is selected, the better.Trying to figure out how to post pictures of buffet. Paul, can I send them to you for help?
Loop route is 100 miles from restaurant to break up point. Camp Verde is 1800s home of US Camel Corps, formed by General Jefferson Barrack Hussein Davis. Lost that too.
Part of route is FM 337, one of the 3 Sisters, The most scenic highway in Texas, but keep your eyes on the road. Shoot for an early leisurly lunch, 11:00-11:30 'til 13:00, 2 hour +/- drive, Camp Verde stop and shop, refresh before trip home.

IMO, this is a planned monthly CTC GTG,for a Saturday in March if enough peeople can participate. Those wishing to participate pleasee post your vote NLT 3 March and we need to firm it NLT 5 March. I will make parking and seating arrangements based on the # of participants.
I will be at the Inn of the Hills at 11:00 on the date selected to greet everyone. How you get there is up to you to decide. One of TWO choices, 13th or 20th.
Hope to see you there.

I'll have to check with the boss, John.

We'd already penciled in that Sunday on our calendar

Len Saturday was picked due to price, less traffic, and meet and eat and retreat. Route is about 2 hours. Buffet saves time from ordering too
BTW, did you check out those yellow submarines?

Any other weekend than the 13th would work for us. As I noted before, we have an RV rally scheduled that weekend... however we don't expect anyone to change the schedule to accomodate us.

Saturday works for me, instead of drivin back to Kyle we may just grab a cabin in Medina @ Koyote Ranch ! Incidentally average speed through any one of The 3 Sisters is probably 35 to 45mph. Maybe a lil longer trip than what you expect judging by the route !

Wink Re: CTC March GTG Hill Country Kerrville, TX

Thanks Paul and Bill and Stogey. Two hours is purely a guesstimate. This ia a scenic cruise for enjoyment, not a time trial.

The trip driving time is 2 hours 11 minutes with an average speed of 46.32 miles an hour. The trip will take a little longer if we are going to make stops along the way and maybe some traffic. It should allow us time to have fun and get home at a decent time. I'm looking forward to this. Vote for Saturday the 13th or Saturday the 20th.
