What's the speed limit this year. If it's 80mph, it just aint worth the 500 mile round trip IMHO.
I'm pretty sure my car will hit 150 without too much trouble. Maybe a few laps at 115 or so? That would offer a good zing.

Spending time with friends and the party at the pool Saturday night and the lunch at Babes on Saturday is worth a flight all the way from Chicago IMO.

We're not going there to race our cars, we're going there for charity and make a Crossfire showing. It is the comradery and socializing is what it is all about.

John, you've got 10 or so responses, but only one sign up on your list.

Bill, this list is a feeler. InfernoRedxfire (Dan) from DFW will post official list when decision is made on whether there will be one or two runnings this year. I am trying to handle the Cruising the Corridor event when I get the word on the towns and we are invited. Need to plan route, and lunch and will be crisscrossing other car clubs along the way. Not every one is taking the same route, just going thru the same towns. Will be a fun run, probably more then 100 cars

BEEP, we all understand the "Need for speed" and the TMS controls the event. If you really want to bury the needle LEGALLY, check out the Ft Stockton to Sanderson Spring Fling. 59 miles each way, closed road, fast as you can be. But it ain't free. Read the rules. You want to play--you got to pay!

The Texas Motor Speedway will present two events this year for Charities for Children.
The first is 7 May,2011 and the second will be Sept 10, 2011. It was suggested after the Sept rally last year that only one event would be participated in by the Crossfires as a group due to dwindling participation.. Please indicate your interest in participating in the 7 May 2011 event:
RUNNING OF THE CROSSFIRES V:
1. FTroopChief John and Eileen Penz)
2. Lantana
3. Bill F Bill and Sampie
4. joejet Joe and Helena
5. OKC-XFR Jon and Sue
6. TerryR Terry, Margaret and BUDDY
7. dtinker Dave and Carmen
8. CHAR Char "Granny"
9. noles noles
10 VALKRYDERGUY "El Presidente`" Gary

I drive by the airport when I leave work and live in the direction of the hotel. I leave work around 5p. If you fly in around that time or even earlier (I can leave earlier if need be) on Friday I can swing by and pick you up.

Put Dennis and Pat down for Spring and Fall, I was able to get my car broke in trying to keep up with Danny and Sonia to the Dragon and back. We had a ball. So we are looking forward to eating, meetin, and driving TMS again.

Correct. I suggested to John that he start a thread to see what kind of interest there is. In February, I'll start an official sign-up thread for the May event and ask Gary to make it a sticky.

Sorry, I didn't know, it wasn't mentioned as a feeler in the 1st post and a list was started. I thought John was heading it up as he seemed to get the ball rolling early when there was a large participation in Sept. of 2009. Anyway, now it should make it easy that the preliminary list is started before the official list, as those who have already shown an interest in May, saves from having to go through the posts again and or those on the list having to sign up again. But what do I know? I'm on the list and can't wait to go. Thanks for all you do in putting this together for us Crossfire owners.

LOL It's great to know that there's lots of enthusiasm for the TMS May event.

The official May TMS thread will be started in February to get the list going. The event will include the usual lunch at Babe's , TMS running of the Crossfires followed by a social around the pool at Motel 6 that evening.
