Default San Antonio Coffee & Rides February 23, 2013

Don't forget the SA Coffee & Rides is the last Saturday of every month 7:30 to 10:30. Let's do lunch at a locale restaurant in the shopping center.

Looking forward to it! Love the idea of everyone having lunch together before we go our separate ways!

I hope we have a good turnout. A few more responses would be nice. The earlier we are there, the better chance of parking in a group.

Who else will be there? We can save spots if we know you're coming. We had 5 last month - although one had sadly sold his Crossfires before the GTG. But, 4 beautiful Crossfires, in a row. Even the Grand Canyon is not that impressive! I forgot my camera and hope to get some great pics this time.

We will do lunch together before returning to our alter-ego lives. Hope to see a crowd!

That was me, Jesse James! Do you live in New Braunfels? Your page says South Texas, which does not narrow your location down very much! By the time I realized a Crossfire was on my tail, I was in the turn lane and did not react fast enough to play! I'll be at the SA Coffee & Rides next Saturday.

Join us - I have questions about the black accents on your car.

I live in Spring Branch but have family in NB, San Marcos, Seguin, and canyon lake. I will try to make next Saturday, we have a new baby so I will have to see.

New baby trumps Crossfire....but, barely!

NOTICE: To all the many friends I have had the honor to meet and associate with during the past 5 1/2 years, both owners and afficionados, it is with a great deal of sadness that I had to sell both my Crossfires. It was just a matter of time before it happened. Having celebrating my 81st birthday last October was not the sole reason for the action I took, it was the realization I was slowly losing my batlle of 12 years with Parkinson's. Rather than risk the chance of doing damage to my beautiful "SNOW WHITE" or "BLUE BOY SRT6" I decided to trade both of my pets for a Dodge Avenger with a 3.6L 283 hp which is quite peppy, but a car that Eileen can handle. I now limit my driving locally, but suspect I will turn in my license some time this year. I hope to attend CTC GTGs as a guest for the chit chat but not in the twisties. I've had a good run, so no need to feel sorry for me, take the ball and run as long and as hard as you can, and you can SAY "been there, done that"..

Well never got the pleasure of meeting you, but have gotten to enjoy the pictures and appreciate the work you did with you cars. As they say here "Once an owner.. Always and owner" even if you sell.
I'm just now looking to getting into some of the area get togethers (TMS laps for charity etc.) so maybe someday soon can shake your hand. I don't think anyone would argue over "catch up and hang out with us when you can"..

Met you briefly, last Saturday of January. Hope you can make it to every 'Coffee & Rides,' John. This Saturday is the next one!

Hey John,
It has been my pleasure and honor to hang out with you over the past few years and I want to also say one other thing..
CMSgt Penz, THANK YOU for your service.
Because of outside issues I have had very few chances in 2012 to make GTG's but I hope to be involved in a few this year. I hope you and Eileen can make one or two but if not Reeca and I will make a run to your fair city!
I hope your beautiful cars go to a good caretaker who will pet them like you did.

See ya soon,

Paul

Flowers helped ease a Saturday morning away from the house with some coffee.

Stuck in traffic in stone oak today I saw a blue or saffire srt6, not too many around SA that I've seen.

I will be attempting to make this Cars and Coffee.. if my car holds out that is.. Been leaking oil pretty regularly now and the soonest I can get her in is Tuesday of next week.. Will have to see how she is doing.. may still try and make it without the xfire if I can.. Also.. very sad to hear about your fight with Parkinsons FTroopChief.. I hope that it doesn't slow you down too much.. Should have let us know about selling Snow White and the srt6.. I have been looking around for another to possibly start a collection of xfires..(my son has already said he wants one.. just 7 more years till he can drive..).

Hope to catch you guys on Saturday.. Bill did you want to try and meet up at the HEB before driving over? or just meet there?

X

We were going to fix our oil leaks together, where have you been, I'm still waiting? I'll be at the HEB at between 7 and 7:15. FTroopChief (John) is suppose to be at the Coffee & Rides also.

My car isn't leaking very badly from the breather covers.. I've finally isolated the issue.. I took the car to Penzoil oil place there off of 3009.. It appears that they did not replace the o-rings properly.. cause it the oil filter casing is leaking like crazy.. Going to head to the parts place and pick up a new filter/o-rings and do it myself... sigh.. and I thought I had found a reputable oil change place to take my baby..

I've been crazy busy at work.. my client base has grown to about 1 million monthly recurring revenue.. I have quite a few very popular big name clients now.. which means more travel, more work.. and many many late nights(was up till 3am last night working on an issue). Needless to say I'm looking into other positions in the company since my personal life has become non-existent in this one..

Looks like we will have about 6 or 7 Crossfires there and a Dodge Avenger if FTroopChief shows up ( I wonder if he did any mods yet? ) .

The Avenger should have new wheels and exhaust by now! Right, John?

How early do you have to be there. In Houston, you'ld better be parked an hour and a half before the show or forget it.

I'm planning on staying at the Hilton Riverwalk so it's a quick drive up 281 to the C/R.

It is from 7:30 to 10:30. There are cars there around 6:30 or so. The lot starts to fill up after 7:30. I will probably show up around 7:30.
