That will make ten for dinner, great, Dan and Quinton, you two still coming alone, just want to know before I make us dinner reservations. I'll wait a few more days before I make them.

I was informed yesterday that a helmet would not be needed to drag race. It's only required for sub 12 second cars. I was also told that the normal fee to get into the race track is $10, but on Sat to be able to run the drag strip the fee is $25. I would like to be able to get in maybe 2 runs if possible, depending on how long the lines are. If we can't drag this time, I guess that would just make a great excuse to have another GTG at a later time, right?

Dan,
Don't worry about it, I was just checking before I made the call.

Dan, Quinton, Sharon,
I was just curious if any of you were going to spend the night in Orlando before going back, or were you going to try driving home after the races?

Clif,
My wife and I will be going to meet you two at Old Town on Friday night. We are looking forward to it!!

Kevin,
I haven't seen you much on the boards lately. How was you vacation last week? I know how it is in the AF, I did my time there years ago.

John

Still flying solo for now...I was actually thinking of staying the night in O-town...then hit up City-Walk if its not too late after we leave the track. Anybody down for City-Walk if its not too late?

I'm actually thinking about getting a room - started thinking that today - depending on how late we stay out there. I'm sure after all the fun we have, its gonna be a late night. And I may have an adult beverage (or two) after all the driving we do out there. Know of any good ones in the area? Not looking for anything special since I won't be there that long. But that does not mean Motel 6!

And after all the hard work I did to get that helmet, I'm going to wear it! Some-how, some-way... Maybe I can intimidate someone out of the way with my mean helmet look that they lose?

Nobody said guys weren't predictable.

John, I'm torn on where to stay while we are in Orlando.
I can stay at the Renaissance across from sea world for $109/night and walk to sea world while I have them get my car detailed for me sat morning. Or i can stay over by Kirkman Rd for like $79/night...

The room won't be as nice as the renaissance but its cheaper. I was also thinking of staying near city walk and universal so when get back = from the track we could go and drink and not have to drive back to the hotel...any suggestions.

I'd like to do the same - stay somewhere close to City Walk/Universal so that I don't have to worry about driving after we've had a few drinks. I'm going to check into it today to see what I can find...

I'm looking and I'm trying to get a link to post here for you. I have several that are just outside of Universal entrance. About $90 - $100 a night it looks like. I'll be back with more info in a few minutes.

Those rates would be just fine since we're not planning to be in the room for more then a few hours!

Check out the three that I listed a couple of posts above this one. If you would like something nicer, there were some that I could post for you. The Hard Rock Hotel on site was just under $300 a night! A Double Tree just outside the main entrance was about $120 or so.

This is about a half mile from where dinner will be.

Hope that helped.
John
