5/21: NEW INFO!!! Look Below

I know a lot of us had a lot of fun at the last GTG and it seems like it takes forever to have another one, I decided to take the reigns of the next GTG if there is enough interest. So, I'm gauging interest on a summer GTG the weekend of July 18th in Orlando. On the 19th, Hot Import Nights will be at the convention center on I-drive. I don't know how many people would be interested in this but it's an auto event in a centrally located city in the state and we could even do an Old Town thing Friday night.

Sounds good to me. I went to the Tail of the Dragon and this would be good for us coming from Charleston SC ( five hour drive ) it was 4 hrs to the Dragon. I hope you get plenty of interest.
Le me know the details such as where to stay and meet.

 

Mike, that sounds good. It's the weekend after the Nationals in PA and would be more driving than I've done in a while.....but I am tentatively ready to give it a shot.

If you put it together they will come. You can most likely count me in and maybe Ashley. That one depends on school.

Gator talk to John, he can probably help out since he's been doing all the previous leg work and your involvement is and will be a plus.

 

HIN in Orlando is super crowded, and would take a good bit to go down I-Drive. I can't think of anything on a saturday to do otherwise though. I'm in though, just tell me when, where, and what time.

 

Thanks Randy, I knew you'd understand....lol . Actually, I just really like getting together with everyone and don't think it has to be on John all the time doing all of the legwork. Plus, people take summer vacations and Orlando is a little more eventful during this time.

If HIN seems to be like too much of an ordeal the Saturday night Cruise at Old Town is open to everyone. The only thing is to know how many people will be there and hoping we can obtain a rather large row of Xfires. Also, the GTG doesn't have to be on this specific weekend as it happens every Saturday so we have more flexibility.

Old Town is also more family friendly and there's more things to do in case we get bored. thanks shawn, now looking at it and the more lenient Saturday Cruise rules, this might be the better option

So once I can get a rough estimate on how many people will want to come I'll email the director of the Old Town Cruises and see how many spots I can reserve.

 

HIN is fine, I haven't been in years. Since HIN is going on the track is usually slower that weekend, if you want to do a friday night track meet, and then do the sat night HIN?

Just dropped Ashley's car at dealer for new struts and interior. Saw a young lady with a silver 05 XF lmt that she has had for 3 years. Her warranty just expired and she asked if it was worth getting the extended. I told her about the crossfire forum and Todd and Gator's Orando GTG.

I think she will join our forum. How can one resist.

Have you still not got it, I swear I sent the smaller one a few days ago...heck I'd rather just mail you a CD, it's just as easy...lol

It's up to everyone what they want to do, I know I'll be up there Friday and Saturday night. Friday night at the track is open to the public as far as the drag strip but the date is still a ways away. Once we get some more opinions I'll put up a poll and it can be a democratic decision.

 

As far as old town goes, we can show and cruise on Fridays only. They will NOT let us in on Saturdays.

 

Just getting together is good enough for me. so whatever is decided count me in!

 

We'll probably be in Orlando around the 19th, but unfortunately our Crossfire won't. I'll try to make it to the GTG despite the fact that I'll be driving a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan (if that is allowed).

We do plan to drive the Crossfire to Orlando sometime in October to visit our son who is in the Disney College Program, and I would love to get together then if there is any interest.

 

As of now I will be able to make it. The last GTG was great and I love being with other Crossfire owners. Hope to see all of you in Orlando.

The hamster wheel in my brain is working on something, don't you worry

 

LOL. We can probably get some graphite or some good lube (astroglide) to make those synapse closer so the info can jump across those spaces in between those brain cells to that gray matter. Sometimes those wheels get very squeaky. Kind of like Ashley's brakes.

What color is your SRT?

 

Graphite...so you're saying I should just rub my head on my car and I'll be good to go???
