Sorry to see your car up for sale, OM. If it was a stick, I'd be interested - still want a 6 speed red Coupe to sit beside the Roadster.

Well, Deb, I will be there - all by myself, but I will be there! Maybe we can all run down to Darien to the nudist resort and go for a swim - oh, wait, too cold in November for that.

Never mind. But I WILL be there.

So far the plans I have for everyone...... come on Friday or Sat and cruise to the beach.... then cruise to the vineyard for pizza and Karoke!!! should be a hoot. Sat or Sun depending on who comes when... we do a Ghost Tour of Historic Downtown Savannah.

I am working on some good rates at local hotels, so hang with me.

Deb

That's awesome Deb. You will have to go a bit easy on me though. This will be my first crossfire gtg. The last time I was at a car gtg, someone got me drunk and took advantage of me. I hope that doesn't happen again...... He was a really big dude too...... LOL Count me in and let me know about the best hotel nearby.

Adendum, since very few here know me, I thought I should clarify. That was a joke. I can't really say he took advantage of me.... LOL That was a joke too! Of course, if it is a really cold day on the beach, I might look like some dudes chick in the wrong light! LOL

I can't sing, but I can mime that Natalie Imbuligia song "Torn"... Not quite as good as this guy, but I seem to make people laugh. That good enough?

Don't forget Breakfast on Sunday morning - Im ordering three plates of french toast!

Hey Deb, if you are looking for ideas for a hotel as a central point.... Could I recommend the Hilton DeSoto. I have stayed there in the past, and really like it. There is so much to do in that area, and you are surrounded in the middle of the old historic squares. Just an idea.

The only problem with meeting at the Desoto is there is no parking for everyone. Would be better off meeting over at the Convention Center or the Westin across the river.

Surely the Hilton would have enough parking spaces for the number of rooms. I am sure we can figure something out. Being in the center of many things sounds very good to me. That determines how much drink and how much fun I can have. LOL I'm just happy to be going to my first though, so I will go wherever!

Yes the Hilton does have an underground parking garage, not very good for photos, the only other parking near the hotel is on the street, at meters, which generally is full due to SCAD being right across the park.
Also the Hilton is about 10 blocks from the waterfront and the city market.

I will check around and see what kind of rates I can get and give everyone a list, then you choose which best suits your budget. Probably best bet is for us not to meet up at the hotel but in a central spot for photo opportunity. I will be looking for several locations for us to stage our cars for this.

Roberta & I typically stay at the Doubletree on West Bay Street near The Market when we're in Savannah for a weekend.

I believe you're right. In & around Bay Street, near The Market, there are quite a few hotels to choose from. We stay at The Doubletree since it's a Hilton property and I use my HHonors points. But we have always liked that property even back when it was a Raddison property.

Later,
