Just had a blow out on my rear tire, so won't be able to have it fixed till Monday. I will probably ride over and be a spectator and check everything out Saturday afternoon in the Charger. Have fun everyone !

Kim, sorry I can't make it tomorrow. i hope everyone has a great time. I have horse feeding duty this weekend as my daughter and all our horse people friends are at an event in Jacksonville. Thought I had someone to take over but.... The horses are used to doing tasks for treats after they eat. The TB is usually still in his stall (slow eater) while the QH is playing and getting treats. My potential replacement thought this was fun and enjoyed giving treats. When the TB gets out he often quickly does a task without a que so he can get in on the treats. He came past us turned to face us and chose to do a huge Hi Ho Silver. The sight of 17-1 h and 1400 lbs standing on his back legs and pawing the air at about 10 feet was just more that this guy could take. No amount of talking could get him back inside the fence.LOL Sorry for the long post but I knew you would enjoy the story. Everyone enjoy tomorrow.

I had to teach my boyfriend how to feed our horses while I was at the Dragon because Sunday's are my horse feeding day. I feel your pain!! It took my 3 weeks to convince him that my 17h horse Dudley wouldn't hurt him! We will miss you today - but we will do this again next year with more notice. I am getting ready to load up my car & roll out of here to the cruise.

Jim. Good deal....I am a new horse owner as well....use to have them, now I am back....I couldn't get away to FL either...have to work when the work is there...maybe next month will be kinder...I have a new paint....she is a rescue, I will have to put some money into her, as she was injured, and they were going to put here down...I loved the horse at first site, and told the deputies, to take her to the farm, she wasn't get put down...she's now at a friends stable, waiting for surgery...on a rear leg that was cut to the bone...bone is fine, so it should go well...and KIM, I will try to plug this in for maybe next year...I am planning on slowing down one of these days....

Well another Daytona Beach Dream Cruise is in the bucket & we had an amazing time!!! We ended up with 8 XF's which I don't think is too bad with about 2 weeks notice.

We met up about 9am in the shadow of the world famous Daytona Speedway & saw the most amazing custom Nissan 240 with a cutaway top & a speaker for a steering wheel. We will have to count on Ben Book to post pictures of that monster! The organizer of the DBDC came over 1st thing in the morning to welcome us to the meet & thank us for coming - what a nice guy!!!

We had a great breakfast at Bob Evan's with a nice waitress who dropped EVERYTHING!!!

We then took more photos & cruised over to the main gathering area for our "glamour shots" courtesy of the folks at DBDC. Another XF owner walked about 1/2 mile to come talk to our group!

We then found our spot near some other Mopars that also had a nice shade tree so we could watch the parade of cars go by for a while. Most of the group was so focused on the amazing cars going by in front of us that they didn't notice all the people oohing & ahhing over our cars. Lots of pics were taken by total strangers of our cars today!!!

Next it was cruising off down International Speedway Blvd to A1A on our way to Cow Lick's for some tasty ice cream. Fantastic ice cream, air conditioning & restroom!!!

We were headed further south on A1A, cruising along the "World's Most Famous Beach" we headed to the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Amazing site with great photo ops for the cars. I wish we had the time to explore the nature trails, beach & lighthouse today, but those adventures will have to be saved for another day.

Our last stop was a great seafood restaurant called "Down By The Hatch." We sat on the very warm porch, over looking the water, listening to a live band & enjoying cold drinks & good snacks! We also met another XF owner - he found us - who had no idea about our club, but was really excited to see a bunch of XF's out together!

We had an awesome time & we need to have more GTG's down here in FL! Let's look to make this a much larger event next year!!!

I posted all the photos I took on my cell phone today, but I would love it if you guys could post your pics too!!! I know Dan has all the lighthouse photos on his camera & there were lots of other shutter bugs today too!

Kim,
You described what sounds to have been an excellent time.
Wish Daytona was not so far from Chi-town cause I really would have enjoyed this.
Looks like John has shaved since I last saw him...lol
Hope to see more pics posted here from the others now.

As for the club banner....total mix up....they thought Dan still had it.
Any new members join ??
We'll be prepared next year for sure !!

Talk with ya soon, Gary

We had a great time! It was great to get everyone together. This is really the start of our car cruise season - its just starting to get cool enough to spend a lot of time outside in the middle of the day. Next year it would be great to get more folks there. I promise to do a better job of getting the word out there sooner!

Kim gave the guy at Down The Hatch a goody-bag and he was thrilled. He has an Alabaster Roadster. After taking the bag back to his table, I think he read the newsletter front to back.....and then came back over to our table to tell us how much he liked the pics of Beaner's car. He was just totally amazed and excited to see so many of us.

It was a great time for sure and Kim has already come up with some ideas for next year to make it even better.....and possibly make it a weekend event for those that would like to stay over, enjoy the beach, climb a lighthouse or two, and enjoy a 'watering hole' until the wee hours. Hotel rates are cheap this time of year so we have some good options to consider.

Looks like a good time, with great weather!

I'll be there next year, Kim. We had a good, fun rehersal for the play this weekend - I'll be glad I committed to the play when we present it, - but wish I could have been there.

We will make this a larger event next year. Hotels in the area are so cheap this time of year & that's before a group rate. Most even include breakfast. We could make it a great event with the cruise, dinner, beach side beverages, great sunrise over the ocean pics and some amazing friends! We will have a little bit more schedule if there is going to be a bigger group!! Some of our northern folks might have to drive down for their last warm weather before they get socked in by winter!!!

Yes he does!, but its a base model and there is a little more headroom, I dont think he would fit a Limited or a SRT6.

Gary,I think Ben is the smaller one at 6' 5''. I think John told me their elder son was 6' 7'' and he is a no go for the crossfire. Give us the #'s John and BTW tell me about those new wheels?
