2011 VW-NB ToD Spring GTG

Berta & I just got back from a weekend with the VW New Beetle group up in Bryson City, NC. Group drove the Cherohala Skyway & Tail of the Dragon loop on Saturday. Think we counted 25 cars in the group. Kinda hard keeping the entire group together - probably too many cars for that. But it really was an enjoyable drive over this route. VW-NB's handle the 'twisties' better than I expected. With performance summer treads mounted, it would be interesting to see what the car would really do. And I was surprised how well the 6-spd Tiptronic works in this car. We had a blast!!

Then when we left this morning around 0930, we drove 'Moonshiner 28' all the way down to Walhalla, SC. What a way to finish up our weekend!! Stopped in Highlands along the way & treated Berta to a great Mother's Day brunch at On The Veranda. Fabulous restaurant!!
