Sprint Booster - A "Must-have"!

I had a little trouble getting the washer out - it seemed to be binding between the post and the housing. I would have never gotten it out without a magnet pickup tool and you cannot remove the pedal assembly without removing the washer. Other than that, installation was a breeze.
Like danimal said... HOLY *****!!!
I have the manual version - it is severe (putting it politely).
I've just installed the Sprintbooster this morning, and gone for a quick drive.
Once the car is moving it's fine - it's just trying to get the car moving without 'kangarooing'.
Fortunately these cars have traction control - without it you'd never get the car moving without chirping the tires.
It's going to take some accelerator/clutch synchronization before it's smooth.
It's a lot easier to set off in 2nd gear.
If anybody else is planning on getting one of these, I would think long and hard about the version for the automatics.
Having said that... I'm sure in a week, after I've replaced a set of rear tires, I'll say that the manual version is the only way to go!!!
Maybe I'll write an update in a week!

Too bad you cannot adjust the sensitivity. It now makes sense why the XF is so sluggish, it's for dampening the throttle for more comfortable driving.
I could never understand why they (MB) did this before...

I installed mine yesterday just in time to go cruzing with 22blk05xfire and Sieglet and I couldn't stop having fun all day today! The throttle response and acceleration are outstanding to say the lest! I even let 22blk05xfire and sieglet have a go with it and they both noticed the difference as well. This is by far the best mod I've done to my car thus far and I've done a lot!
Definitely get a good magnet, that washer can be a pain and wont come out otherwise.

Installed mine on saturday and like everybody else says, the install was very simple, the washer is the toughest part you definitely need a magnet to remove. After the install took I went out for a little cruise and was very impressed with the increase in the throttle response and pick up from a stand still or from slower speeds. I went out on the interstate to see the difference at higher speeds and when I pushed the pedal to the floor the engine shut off. Pulling off to the shoulder I turned the key off and then started the engine and it started right up. Took off one time and when I pushed the pedal all the way to the floor again the engine turned off. Started the engine, it started right up and then drove back to the house. It seems that when I push the pedal to the floor and hits the switch at the bottom of the accelerator it shuts the engine down. Has anyone with an auto-trans had this problem after their install of the sprint booster? I've never had this problem before but I will uninstall the sprint booster today and drive without it just to make sure thats what the problem is. Could I have possibly gotten one for a manual and I have an auto? What's the part # for the auto?

2. Turn the key to the on (not start) position.
3. Press the gas pedal to the floor with the key in the "on" position.
4. Hold the pedal to the floor for five seconds, then turn the key back
to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas
pedal.
5. Wait 2 mins. for a full alignment.
6. Drive the car as you always do.
Key on, pedal down, 5 sec, key off pedal up, wait 2
minutes. Keep the key in for the entire thing.
I have floored mine to many times this week with great results but only from a stand still, I have not tried it like passing. I will try to go out today and punch it at highway speed and see what happens. I'll get back to yall once I get home.
We can contact Stamatis Boulekos about this if resetting the system does not work, he is great to work with.

I went ahead and sent an email to Mr. Boulekos describing the problem. I should hear from him in the morning, I will post his response. OK off to try highway speed.

OK this is where I stand, I did the throttle body reset and took the xfire for a spin on the interstate and there was no difference. When I push the pedal all the way to the floor the engine shuts down or that's what I thought. It turns out that the engine is running its just that the accelerator becomes disabled. After pulling over I noticed that the tach was still indicating RPMs but no response with the accelerator pedal. Turn the key off and restart and everything is fine. So I get home uninstall the sprint booster and take the car for another spin and everything's back to normal so I guess the sprint boosters the problem. I hope that they will exchange this one or have some kind of solution for the problem.
