Default Custom ECU Remap

Finally found a ECU guru that I trust and am going to give him my chip for a custom remap that he guarantees will advance the timing to eliminate the OEM timing retard and also bring the FAM to 13.5:1.

I'm not going to promote his business or mention his name until I see what he can actually do with the custom remap and whether he's blowing smoke or not. But, he comes highly recommended by the MB engine shop I'm working with on the new 112 race engine for the #431.

Unfortunately, I already have a PowerChip Gold 93 and will not be able to compare his remap to the OEM, but I will be able to compare his remap to the current chip by doing a dyno again after he completes the install. My current dyno results with the PowerChip are located on this forum somewhere.

I'll keep you all posted regarding this promising upgrade...

I would do a base run with a G meter on a smooth highway in current configuration before you let him change the timing and a/f maps. You really need to start investing in a logger or else do some 1/4 mile testing at a strip with your guru. otherwise you'll never know if he's improving the cars performance.

I have seen people remap a cars A/F tables for max power, not chemically correct... and the vehicle lost power by pulling less g's in a straight line track. Time to invest in equipment.

I will definitely want to hear the results of this.

Even if this guy turns out to be about the same price as the Upsolute guys, a custom map would be the way to go in my opinion.

Let us know Derek. Good luck!

Is there a place where you can just buy a chip and not have to send yours in for modifications?

If you have any local Orange County shops please let me know. I would rather go to the shop and wait for 2 hours than send my ECU in for modding.

Thanks,
AJ

AJ: The best place to take it is EVOSPORT in Huntington Beach.
