Default Won't Start...stuck At Work...alarm Going Off

OK, the weirdest thing. I went to my car after work, clicked the "unlock" button on my key chain and nothing happened (usually the lights flicker and the doors unlock). So I unlocked with my key in the door and the alarm went off. Put key in ignition, turned it, and NOTHING. Red light is still flashing showing that alarm is still activated.
Battery is fine, radio is on, lights are on, but car does not make a sound when I turn the key. Keyless entry will not lock or unlock doors and every time I get in the car the alarm goes off.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Graham

not sure, but i know the lights and radio will work without a key. i would say since you didn't de-activate the alarm, the engine wouldn't start. maybe you need new batteries, or a new remote.

Yeah, just talked to a friend of mine who had a similar thing with his pathfinder. Said because the alarm went off it won't allow the engine to start. Now we just have to figure out how to deactivate the alarm. I read on here that unhooking the battery works.
Then it sounds like I'll have ot get a new keyless entry.

My key started the car and locked/unlocked doors after disconnecting the battery. Haven't had that problem since. Hope that easy fix works out for ya.

Cool Re: Won't Start...stuck At Work...alarm Going Off

Same thing happened to me, pushed the button and nothing. I had the extra key with me and used it... lights blinked doors opened and I was good to go. When I got home I locked the car with the spare key and tried to deactivate the alarm and open the doors with my usual key and nothing...changed the battery and it worked, I have not had a problem since.

May just be the battery in the remote needs to be changed.

Well, I disconnected the battery, then re-connected and VROOM! Thanks for all the help, guys. I'll get a new remote battery ASAP.
