Default Tire monitor problem

I'm having an issue with the TPM (tire pressure monitor) light, it won't go out. I brought the car to the dealer for fog lamp glass replacement, when I received the car from them The TPM light was on. So I checked the pressures in the tire and it seems someone at the dealer over inflated them to 42 psi. So I let some air out and to bring it down to 35 psi. I drive around for a week and the light is still on.

Then I figured that maybe I have to reset the computer or something, so I disconnect the battery for an hour and come back to reconnect. After doing so, the ABS/TC system light turns on, but eventually goes out after 3 minutes, but I still have the pesky TPM light on. Do I have to turn the key to run mode, so to drain all battery power from the computers?

I use 35 psi and haven't had that problem yet.
I know the TPM light was on in my 4Runner a while back. I checked all 4 tires and they were good. Turns out it was the spare that was low. Of course since the Xfires have no spare - I am of no help to you.

Cool Re: Tire monitor problem

This has been discussed before and there are many threads on the subject. Make sure that all tires are at the right pressure (32 psi front & 33 psi rear), the TPMS will only trip when there is at least a 25% loss of pressure. This is what has worked for me in the past, while filling your tires make sure the ignition is in the start position or running. After filling your tires to the proper psi cut the car off and wait about 2 minutes then restart your car and the light should go out.

Sounds to me like one of the batteries in your TPM sensors has gone bad. Your dealer should be able to tell you which one from the fault code. A new TPM sensor costs about $65 if I remember correctly.
