resetting service odometer
i am having a problem resetting the service odometer. i follow everything in the instruction manual but when i'm holding the **** instead of it making a noise after 10 seconds and showing 7,000 miles it shows the oil icon with a clock. i just had an oil change and when i double click the **** the oil indicator says ok. how do i reset the service timer, so i don't see the little wrench? am i doing something wrong? please help.
Do a search on 'Resetting the FSS' (or similar to that).
There are a few threads on this, a few list the instructions on resetting it.
I changed my oils a few weeks ago, and on about the 10th attempt I finally reset it.

10 times. lol. did you realize what you were not doing? i thought i was following the instructions from the manual but it doesn't seem to work. i'll check your link. thnx.
its driving me crazy and it doesn't seem to work. why does the oil icon come up instead of the noise that i am suppose to hear followed by the 7,000 mile reset? must the car but turned "on" or just have the key in the ignition clicked all the way to the right, without having the car running.
