3M Headlight Protection...
I want to pass on my experience with two companies that sell 3M headlight protectors.
A word of caution... be careful where you purchase 3M headlight and clear bra kits. Different
companies sell kits that use the same 3M film, but out source their work to different companies
and there lies the problem.
I purchased a 3M headlight protection kit for my Crossfire from Griot's Garage about a year and
a half ago and am very happy with the product. It fits the headlights and fog lights perfectly.
A few weeks ago I purchased a 3M kit for my wife's new Jeep Liberty from XPEL Technologies Corp.
The 3M film is the same, but you get less of it. The headlight protection does not cover the headlight
completely. It leaves 1/2 inch of it exposed all around the edge. The marker light protection fits
perfectly, however the fog light film looks as if it was cut with a pair of scissors by a six year old.
I know some people here have recommended XPEL products, but I prefer Griot's 3M kits. I ordered
another kit for the Jeep from Griot's, and it fits perfectly.
The headlight kits sold by Griot's are about $15 more than XPEL's kits... as they say, "you get what
you pay for". And one other thing... customer service is better at Griot's. At XPEL, all I got was
an operator who forwarded my calls to voice mails.
