Re: Induction Help!!!
You can try here, and you can also switch out the filters. I purchased mine from the same Seller on Ebay.

Suckin' hot air ?
Hey those cone filters look racy but you're just suckin' in hot air with 'em.
Search for the "AMG airbox" posts or look at my member gallery.
AMG/M-Benz engineers have this already figured out. The airbox/cold air set-up for the SRT6 cars fit on the N.A. 3.2 just fine. Lot's of flow, cool outside air and all factory parts. Trust me, Works well !

Re: Suckin' hot air ?
I bet that if you took the temp of your airbox while driving 65 and compared it to the temp of your airbox at idle after driving 65 it wouldn’t be much difference...As a matter of fact, I'm going to do that this week.
I'll take the Temp of the inner Stock tubes, just behind the grill.
Then I'll check the Temp after I stop and Idle for a while.
Then I'll do the same with the cone filters.
I'll let you know the difference in temperature.

I have my V8 airbox and filters for sale if you are interested. It is basically the same as the V6 airbox but with more volume for improved flow.

The open element filters won't hurt a thing and they make some cool noises when you floor it.
Looks like you are in the UK so I don't think you have the heat and humidity some of us USA drivers have to put up with in late Summer.
That's when underhood temps really soar out of sight and you'll really NEED an outside source of cooler air or you'll lose power Big Time !
Doubt if it really makes a lot of difference in Merry 'ol England !

Re: Induction Help!!!
C Slim,
You appear to have the Mac Daddy setup for intake. I looked at your photos, but have missed information on where you purchased this kit (or separate parts). I also have a base coupe and would like to put some more air under the hood.
Was this a strictly bolt-on system, or were you up late at night making lots of brackets and wire extensions?
Please share.

Re: Induction Help!!!
steveb1...I sent you an email.
Also to everyone interested about the difference in temperature in short ram or stock...there's about a 4 to 6 1/2 degree difference of the air temp inside the tubes... not sure what the gains and or loss are but doesn't seem like much.

Re: Induction Help!!!
Hi Wild Child,
Every degree lower is worth having especially in the summer months when you will notice more "Heat soak". When stuck in traffic for more than a few mins and they you get the chance to boot it again, you will notice a drop off in power then. Granted on the run at motorway speed you will probably get enough cold air in to be very similar. I have looked at the design of the std system and infact it is pretty good and allows for "forced" cold air into seal air boxes. Whilst I think you set up looks pretty mint, I would strongly suggest 2 mods for you to gain better performance.
1) re fit the cold air feeds and direct them into the front of your cone filters so you get a "forced" cold air flow.
2) fit some heat shield in place to isolate your air filters as much as possible from the engine bay.
If you decide to give this a go, please post how it all goes and what gains you notice. My guess would be standing starts will be improved most.
