Gas pedal does nothing.

This has happened to me on two occasions.
I went full throttle acceleration to 70 mph.
When I slowed down to stop for a light my gas pedal did nothing.
It was just dead. I shut off the car and restarted it and all was fine.
I remember reading a thread about this some time ago but I can't seem to find it.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I have tried to make this condition happen but I can't reproduce it.
The fact that it happened twice rules out a fluke.

Do you have a sprint booster? The reason I ask is when I installed my sprint booster the same thing happened to me so I exchanged it for a new one and then it worked fine.

It only would happen when I put the pedal to the floor and hit the kick down switch.

 

Supercharged or N/A?
Would that make a difference?

On automatic transmissions, there is a little "switch" when you push the gas pedal all the way down that shifts your car down 1 gear for faster acceleration.

 

i have a auto 2005 srt-6. 280 miles on it now.
everything seems to work ok.
kinda cold collared on start up.

 

I'd go see someone with a code scanner and see if your car registered any DTCs.
