Default Found a reasonable priced Supercharger kit

I may have found a reasonably priced supercharger kit for the Crossfire.

The system will fit under the stock Crossfire engine cover which is very stealthy.

The entire kit cost 4,000 Euros but this may include VAT. Without VAT it would be about 18% less. I have sent them an email requesting more information. They sell this same kit for the Crossfire and just about every Mercedes that has the 3.2 engine.

http://www.infinitas-gmbh.de

I hope I typed it right. I tried but couldn't get it to copy and paste.

I requested a dyno sheet, list of what is included, pricing without VAT, and better pictures.

Others may want to send similar requests. I will post what I get from them, but I am traveling internationally starting tomorrow for the rest of the week. Until now I only found a few kits that were priced as though they were made of gold. I am also considering building my kit, but this kit is getting closer to reality from at least a cost basis. I kind of like it all fitting under the stock cover. The only give away is the pulley under the front of the cover.

Nice find... but $8,000 or more US dollars... yikes.

Better than a Kleeman though...

I am not sure what exchange rate you are using but if they get rid of VAT that would be about $3,300 Euro's which at today's exchange rate comes to about $4,500 maybe you where thinking GBP's?

No problem, With the stupid prices that seem to be associated with anything MB, I thought this was closer to a sane price. Even the BMW guys can get nice systems for $3,500 - $4,500. A nice Jackson Racing system for the popular imports runs about $2,500. Put the same parts on an MB and you are looking at 10-14K.

Current rates put the kit at $5,300 w/o shipping and install.

Also, post numbers on what they're getting when you get the email back.

That's not bad. As long as you all pay your taxes I will always have an income. Go Army.

On some of their other kits I noticed they quoted a cheaper price without VAT (around 3,300 euro). We would not have to pay VAT as long as it is shipped to the US. As far as installation, that would be done by me. Shipping isn't much at all. I have a ton of experience shipping car parts from Europe and Australia. Most you, with the help of a friend that has some automotive experience could install this yourself. If you don't have friends with any experience you should join a car club and make some new friends. If I put out the word that I was putting a supercharger on a Crossfire, I would have about a dozen guys show up wanting to help. Those are nice friends to have and I have met most of them through car clubs and the show car circuit.

While the pictures aren't very good has anyone really tried to figure out how they designed this kit? I was impressed when I saw that it all fits under the stock engine cover ( I must be having a flash back to my old street racing days when you tried to downplay your mods to get suckers to bet more). It doesn't look like a roots style blower but looks more like a centrifugal (sp?) blower because of the plumbing out the back. the top of the stock intake is gone and there seems to be cast aluminum plumbing straight into the ports. It looks like the stock air filter boxes are there but it also looks like there is a cone filter against the firewall on the passenger side? I like the OEM look with the engine cover on. Only the pulley gives it away.

Does anyone have more information on this kit? I am VERY interested in it. I went to the site but it didn't show what's included or ask if they ship a custom chip or if I will need to tune myself. I would also like to see dyno results.

From looking at their pictures on the website, it almost looks as if they did a custom cast manifold or welded up a tubular manifold, and then mounted a baby centrifugal supercharger to the front of the engine.

I would rather just have the manifold and make my own system, the SC pulley belt looks enemic for making Hp.

I read the pricing as Euros 4,050 excluding vat for the M112 engine. Still a good price.

Supercharger looks to be a gearbox driven centrifugal unit, haven't done any calcs but that's possibly one reason why they can run a smaller belt?
