Lost power
I was driving along and had to pass a car, so i put the pedal to the metal, went around the with no problem let off the pedal, went back onto the pedal and nothing, like the engine wasn't even running, nothing.
I started getting some power had the pedal all the way down but the car just crawled along, pulled over shut it down started it back up, and all is good. WTF!
Has anyone else had this problem? I spoke to Xfire2005, he suggested going to Auto Zone and have them check for codes, i'm going to do that on Wednesday. I'll let you guys know if they find anything.

I believe your car went into "fail safe" mode. You may want to get it scanned to see if a code is stored. Any Autozone will do this for free. I had this problem on my Mini Cooper S when it was brand new and was caused bu a loose clamp on the intercooler. At full throttle it would release some air and confuse the computer which then threw it into fail safe or limp mode. Starting and turning off the engine a couple of times will clear this if the problem isn't still present. When this happened to me I got no CEL light either. I thought i had blown it up at first.
Do a "Sluggish Acceleration" search. It is the IC or intercooler pump. I just had mine replaced on my SRT6 and will be taking my daughters in very soon to have hers replaced.
It is very annoying and potentially a liability problem. If you read my posts, I am sure you will be nodding your head saying "yea that's it". Print out the suggestions and take them to the dealer with you and take the service manager for a ride and hope you can duplicate the problem.

Maybe your Gizmo is going bad or just hiccupped?

Dropped off my daughters XF yesterday at the dealer. Had to order IC PUMP. Should be done Friday.
Monday I am going to have the wing painted red. At least I think I am.

Same thing happened to me a couple of times (non-SRT). As Acrispy mentioned, I had to stop the car, turn off the engine and restart it before the problem went away. The only thing I that I can say is that this happens only after I've been HEAVILY stomping on the gas, meaning redlining in every gear.
Then good news is that it hasn't occurred for the past 6 months, and being that I put pedal-to-the-metal around 30% of the time, that is definitely good news...

I was telling a friend of mine who owns an '05 Mustang same thing happened to him. They told him it went into safe mode or limp home mode, it will do that when you red line or your taking in to much air.
