Steve, I think the koni shock is superior to ours because of adjustability and low pressure design! Plus remember ours are probably off another stock MB design. And since more than one owner here has expressed their overall ride improvement and in SRT6 and LTD stock shocks I think are almost the same lousy ride. The SRT6 stiffer spring just makes it worst !
Konis will be my first investment on my SRT6 ! About $600 on AJUSA.com

The ride of the my Eibach's is satisfactory to me, it's just that I need to raise the front up about a 1/4 of an inch. I don't get a lot of rub, but if I hit a pretty big dip it does rub and how hard it rub's depends on the dip & speed.

The Eibach's made it a lot better on the rough roads here in Indiana, I made a spacer out of some 1/4" rubber I had, compressed the spring and inserted it above the spring cup. But I think the weight of the car has compressed it down to about an 1/8". I know they make 3 or 4 different spring cups of different thickness, I had called a big Chrysler parts place back when I lowered my car and they had told me witch one's mine were by giving them my VIN #. At the time I still had the OEM wheels on it & was more concerned with getting the back to drop more because it only dropped about 1/2" to 3/4". Now that I have bigger wheels & tire's the back is okay, it's the front I need to raise just a little. I guess I need to get hold of them again and find out what mine are in the front to see if I can get a taller pair. here's a picture to show you how close the tire's are to the fender on the front, I do get a little rub when I hit a dip in the road. What is the name of the site with the spacers you posted pic's of?
Thanks, Steve

The example pic is of Daystars who provide spring "pucks" for suvs and trucks but they may have one that fits.

If I wanted to soften the ride of my SRT-6 the first place I'd look would be a junk yard for a set of Base/Limited springs; they're pre-engineered for the car with the same height but not as stiff. Since you already have the Eibachs maybe someone can machine a couple of aluminum spacers for the front suspension. It's not uncommon for Fieros.

BTW, that's a nice wheel/height combo but the offset looks a bit "non-stock" (hard to tell from the angle). If so, bringing them in might help reduce any contact or rubbing problems as well.

If we had a McPherson Strut then that could be a yes. The Crossfire's ride height is determined by the springs, or incorrectly, the wheel diameter.

Hmmm... I wonder if a group buy will lower that price a bit.

I don't think Ajusa would do much better, and the koni site is a lot higher !
I put my stock spring from my '04 Crossfire and trimmed just 3/4 coil off the ride changed slightly but I still felt the shock hard ride mostly on the bumpy 101 fwy in smooth spots on the fwy it's fine and a little better but I believe it's mostly these 2 things because I felt the 2 shocks together out of the car and the LTDs and SRTs felt the same by hand ! The springs are definitely stiffer over 100 lbs spring wt.tension I've read on the SRTs vs the LTDs. But the shocks felt the same except are shorter on the SRTs about 1 inch !

I'm going to say: Very well put! I agree.

When I first made the 1/4" rubber spacer, it looked like a big flat washer, then I made one cut to the center hole. I then used a PITA spring compessor to compress the spring enough to insert it into the hole above the spring cup. It did pretty good at first, but the top of the spring cup was not a flat surface, the top was like a 1/4" ring. I think that it was sharp enough along with the weight of the car it kind of dented into the rubber, I may just make another pair & put them on top of the previous one's, or make a pair out of 1/2" rubber the same way. My front tire's are 245/35/18's and I had to use a 10mm hubcentrical spacer to get the center caps on the wheels, but I kind of like the meat hanging out look.

I was under the impression that the Eibach's (and some others) had the variable tension in their springs to allow a kind of "best of both worlds" scenario - softer for light needs - smaller bumps, etc., and stiffer when really pushed. The stock springs seem to be just one or the other - stiff on the SRT-6 and soft for the other models.

Is that interpretation wrong? Assuming one is not interested in going to the track, is the only purpose of aftermarket springs to lower your car? I thought the idea was that you'd get better overall performance too.

1. Is it your thought that any adjustable shock upgrade (ruling out upgrades for racing) would offer similar benefits, or is there something special about Koni's and Crossfires - particularly SRT-6's?

2. No spring changes? What's your thought process about this?
I just got my konies on last week and MAN now my SRT6 is a joy to drive on this lousey Ventura Freeway! A must have ! Make sure you trim your bumpers too even if you don't lower your car !

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "trim your bumbers"?

Inside the top of the dust cover is a bumper ! Slide off and trim it about an inch if you lower your car ! This bumper is about 2-3 inches !

Thanks...I was worried you were suggesting shaving off some of the car's bumpers.

Their characteristics include responsive steering, reduced body-roll and limited body movements. They are also externally adjustable, making fine tuning even more easy.I like it too!
