Question Lambo Style Doors

I came across a web site out of the USA. Google LSD doors and you will find them. I am thinking this may be a cool addition to an already fantasic car. I may seriously consider this modification. Any thoughts out there? Pro's or con's???

I had them put on my daughter's SRT everone that sees the car think they look great. There may be a few pictures in the gallery. I just had her XF painted with some blaze red accents. Hopefully I will take the XF home on thurs. Also putting HID 6000 white lights for low, beam high beam and the fog lights. I was checking it out today and it looks very good. Thur they will buff it out. It should look like glass.

I will post some pictures tomorrow.

Above are some new pictures of Ashley's SRT. She loaded these for me as I am incompetant regarding putting pictures on the forum. She also updated my gallery. Her XF looks very very nice. Mine looks good also, hers is awesome.

Definitely some similarities. Color is different and he painted much more of his, ie rockers, rear bumper. But, I do like his XF and what was done.

I would like to put a small amount of the blaze red paint on the center line of the hood that starts at the grill about three inches wide toward the windshield to a point following the natural lines down the center of the hood. That will tie the front together.

Sometime this next week I will have the extra set of '06 roadster (same as SRT) rims that are charcoal/black inside the spoke area and paint the exterior part blaze red leaving the lip untouched.

Other then the spoiler there is only black on the rear area of the XF.

The Doors look very good. Does it make it a bit easier to get out of the car?

Who is the maker of the doors? LSD doors for the Xfire are $1,800 USD.

The doors were made by MJ Creations www.myspace.com/mjlambos
in Miami. It is not a kit. He makes them himself. He probably does 4-5 cars per week and is very well known by those (16-25 year olds) in the area wanting this type of custom work. He does not do bodywork, just the doors. He would probably charge around $1,000 - $1,200 for the doors. One negative is that you lose your washer fluid reservoir.

My daughter is a senior in HS and most every boy in the school wants her SRT. Monday they will get to see the new accents I had painted on this past week. This XF definately has a "WOW" factor visually. I hope no one gets stupid and does something to the XF while it is parked at her school. She is well respected and well known because of her track and cross country accomplishments, so I'm pretty sure her baby is safe. They lock the parking lot gates so no one can drive in or out during the day and they have secuity walking arould plus a few cameras. Welcome to Miami. LOL

You most certainly can! Check out the photo or my gallery. Ashley's is a roadster. Both of the XF's are idenical SRT roadsters, except hers have the lambo doors and the blaze red accents.

The rims should be done this week. I will have her post pictures when they are done and mounted. DSC_0177.jpg

Is it more difficult to open lambo doors than stock?

The doors open normally as the stock doors half way out. Then you simply lift them. Neither Ashley nor I have any problem lifting the doors, but the wife thinks they are hard to put upward. In order not to rub the corner of the inner door pads, you have to extend the door outward to its max before you lift them. It does require a certain amount of strength to lift and push slightly outward to properly put up the doors.

It is much easier to get in the car. It takes a little getting use to opening and closing the doors. I become dyslexic and have senior moments and get downright confused when I switch XF's with Ashley and try and get into my SRT. I go to open my door and want to pull them up. I just scratch and shake my head since mine won't go up.

In the words of Danimal, "I need to switch my medications".
