Under normal driving, does the Xfire automatic(in D) start from a standing stop in SECOND GEAR or does it start in 1st gear.

I know MB s500 start in 2nd for a smoother ride and if you STOMP it , it starts in 1st.


I feel as my Xfire is starting in 2nd gear under normal accelaration.


Does this car have a Transmission DIPSTICK?

 

only when you have the w/d switch on w. it will start in second.

 

I dont have it on. If i stomp it, it downshifts to 1st(from a STOP).

At stop, it is in 2nd. if i shift into 1st(still stopped) i can feel it shifting into 1st.


wierd. I really never noticed it, but i am pretty sure it wasnt like this before. hhhhrrrrrr..

 

Again if you have the S/W switch in "W" mode (Winter) then the car will generally be in 2nd at a stop. If you have it in "S" mode (Summer), it should be in first when you are at a stop.

I'll check mine today when I leave from work and make sure this is truely the behavior on my way home.

try this? Switch to "W" . From a stop hit the gas hard, does it go into FIRST? I am wondering if my switch is messed up and stuck in "W" mode(it is in "S").

Thanks everyone. I just "reset" the xfire(battery disconnect) over night. Played around with the W/S..

Now its back to SUMMER mode...
