Default Question about oem ic pump

I replaced my ic pump with the Johnson pump today and does anyone know what the vacuum line or hose is for on the oem pump?

Did anyone else have a vacuum line on the oem ic pump? The service manual doesn't say anything about it and I haven't read anything on here about it either. But mine had one connected to it on the same end the wire harness was on.

Mine had one (well a hose, not sure if it was a vacuum line or not)
I just plugged it.
I used the Cobra/Lightning pump which did not have the connection either.

possibly an air purge line? I did post a link a long time ago on how to purge the air out of the IC system, it's located over on the mbz forum.

Seems unlikely. It is at the back of the pump near the electrical connection - motor side not impeller side.

Maybe????
