Default TVT intake not a sure thing

I recently installed a CAI from TVT. The slinky hose that runs under the head light really has me worrying. In order for the hose to fit it has to really get cramed and twisted and turned before it makes it to the filter. Now that it is installed I have started to notice that is wearing due to vibration. My mechanic has recommended that I remove the CAI due to a good chance that a hole will wear in it. Any advice?? No one seems to know what to do at the shops.
Thanks
Josh

Contact TVT and see what they say.
Are you able to adjust any of the pipes etc?

I will try to get a pic up soon. TVT just told me that they dont have problems with their intake. thats it. The intake is ran right through the hole just behind the drivers side headlight down right behind the fog light.

needswings came with its own set of problems as well.. that what happens when you buy a brand new product... i was lucky that needswings stood behind their product. i know that anthony at tvt is the same way. he has helped me out alot with my last few orders. hes a good guy.

My guess is you installed it wrong. When installed correctly everything should be very snug and not flimsy. If you are not doing the work yourself I would suggest you find a Performance oriented garage, not just your local mechanic.

I spoke with a another owner who has the same problem. I am going to try and find a more durable hose, as the one provided is very thin and fragile.

is that a reply to me? i have a needswings intake.. no need for any help. rob is taking care of everything and went as far as re-fabricating a new pipe for us. its mr big guns that needs help.. he probably just needs a thicker coupling. either that or he didnt install the intake properly.

Post some pics so we can see if it was installed properly. If you forced it down the wrong hole it will cause problems. (please nobody comment on that last sentence)

SRT6 owners had no issues with Needswings intakes because the SRT6 does not have a MAF sensor in the CAI. na Crossfires do.
