Default Cheap OBD 2 Code Reader

I just picked up a cheap OBD 2 Code reader from Amazon, the Actron CP9125 PocketScan Diagnostic Code Reader for OBDII (Post-1996) Vehicles.

They are offering a special until 2PM PDT

The readers are going fast.

The discounted price is $39.99 with free shipping.

Let us know when you get it and try it out. How is it? Do you need special software, or is it one of the "generic" readers?

I believe it is a generic reader, I planned on using forums and such to decode the messages.

I will update once I get the reader.

I believe generic readers will only do P1000 and up. None of the Network DTCs (U codes), Body DTCs (B Codes), and Chassis DTCs (C codes) These would be MFG Specific.

I'm not interested in the cheap readers, is there anyone who makes a software package with cables for my laptop?

I want to see all the sensors available in the ecu, who has this?

There are several software based versions on ebay that are very nice.

Ease or Auto Ingenuity. Check them out. AI is rather comprehensive and affordable, but Ease is exactly that, easy to use.

I bought this exact model pocket scanner last year. It works on my Audi A4 but did nothing when connected to my Crossfire.
