Not bad as a serious octain booster... you could add the five gallons to a nearly empty tank, then top off with 91 or better and get nearly 100 flat for your average.
I would never do this except at the track myself...

This is true – be sure you don’t mix with pump gas that has ethanol – I made this mistake and had to drive mellow to burn the tank of fuel. It was OK for normal driving but who needs to pay extra $$ for that.

Brian, why cant I mix race gas with pump gas that has ethanol? That is all we have in Oregon now. I am going to try some Klotz Octane booster next week if it get here in time. Sept 11 is the last Thursday Night Thunder for the year. Three more trips(max) and then done till the rain stops next year! I'm going to be doing some machining this weekend. I'll let you know when to start watching the mail.

Years ago,when I was a serious gear head,we would take our 500+hp cars out to local airport and fill up.Cars back then with blowers would "come alive" on that stuff.I cant remember what the octane level was.Now I am just an old fart with a new toy(SRT-6) and go to sunoco to fill'er up with the best they got.---------------Dave

Are you talking about the 93 octane or do you run some of their race gas?

I think there is a place in Kilgore TX that sells this stuff. I have not got in contact with them but I would really like to try some of the 104 unleaded oxygenated. If I ever make it out to Ennis next year it might be worth it.

If you find out anything, please let me know. I contacted a local station recently that was suppose to sell race fuel. They turned out to sell everything but unleaded. There is a company that sells it out of Houston but I could stand a drive to Kilgore if needed.

We have a Sunoco here right next to the track that sells 110 Octane Race Fuel....I won't run it but have put in 5 gallons of 100 Octane with 5 gallons of 93....lets say its 97 pumping through the pistons. Not too bad....I definitely noticed a difference but only tried it once for the track....don't want to have any future engine issues...you never know.

You can run any octane gas as long as it is UNLEADED...................if you gut all the catalytic converters you can run LEADED gas of your choosine. Neither one will be beneficial to you unless the car is tuned to take advantage of that grade of fuel.
I run(and am tuned for) 100 octane pump gas ONLY in my 6 and it's $5.99/gallon.
