Damn!!! That's my blue hood picture with the unpainted vents. And I didn't give permission. I got the hood vent idea from Moparrbust. He just took his hood to a better looking level. My old post was Factory Hood Modification. It's not for sale. Took me to long to create a working rain trap. Squirrel Crusher OK........I went back and re-looked at Dan's ebay hood add. The vents were just sitting on a blue hood, positioned like mine. My mistake but it's still Moparrbust idea that Dan's trying to make a profit from. Dan doesn't seem to ever give up!

After seeing you meticulously craft such a beautiful hood, it is a damn shame someone (Dan) had the cajones to try and use your images. Keep up the good work and don't let the douchebags get you down

Dont bother contacting eBay. I fought them about someone using my car in ads and they completely ignored me. BTW, the seller is Dan Root. The member banned from the Forum for character/madoff issues.

Just goes to show: once an a-hole, always an a-hole.

Thanks Dan!

Guys, Why all the Dan bashing. I only saw some of his posts shortly before finding out that he was banned. What did he do? TO call someone an a-whole is pretty strong so can someone shed some light on why everyone is Dan hating?

That's just a shame that this guy would take your hard work and try to my $ without even offering you compensation. Hate to get off topic but has anybody got those AMG side skirts off crossfireaccessories site yet?

Nate, it's not hating or bashing. Do some reading and you will see for yourself. No one likes it when their ideas and work are stolen from them. This is why I warned you earlier. I didn't want to bash him, but see for yourself.

I had only minimal dealings with him and I had just hoped that someon could summarize what the real issues were. I cannot actually search on "stolen ideas" . People plagarize and borrow all the time so I am not at all in agreement with that but to get banned from a forum I just figured there was more to it than that.

Agreed none of us should bite off anothers idea, but then again I recognize that unless we have a patent there is no legal obligation to restrict one from using anothers idea. Integrity is a key part of this forum which I agree to as well.

ANyway if that is is primary offence than I better understand but was not sure if there is more than that.

THanks

Nate

Actually, if you contact ebay through the proper contact form (impossible to find) and your pictures are on a domain you registered (Crossfire Forum Gallery doesn't count unless you own the crossfireforum.org domain) and you have a copyright statement on the page the picture appears, you will be able to defend your ownership.

That's why I have my stuff on a domain that I own and use the copyright mark on every page.

If you do all that, eBay is very quick to take action. It helps to use your web stats tool to identify images being loaded in the ebay domain - an easy clue that someone has stolen your picture AND your bandwidth. IF they rehost it, it's harder to track.

Has anyone weighed our hoods yet it is a lengthy piece. It would be nice to see a Carbon fiber piece even if it didn't have the lines in it. I'm sure the owners with the Black Colored Crossfires would love it as well. For those without it we could always color match it. Would shave a little weight and be a change in look.
