Default Service Due

I just bought my '08 last Friday with 55 miles on the odometer.
Drove it home and it now has just under 1,000 miles
The FSS reads 26 days remain for a Schedule A service.

Isn't this a little early for the first service?
What is the cost of the first service?

thanks

I think it means your 26 miles over the first oilchange?

break in oil is changed at 500 miles usually.

No to the above poster.... 26 DAYS means that in 26 days A-service is due because of the internal clock has gone 338 since it was set during the vehicle PDI. Id go back to the dealer that you bought it froma nd see if they will reset it. The counter will come on at 12 months or 10,000-12,000 miles depending on driving conditions.

I'll see the dealer.
I didn't think it had a break in oil change. I don't know what kind of oil is in the car now; some cars put in additives and don't want the oil prematurely changed.

thanks

Im not 100% sure about Chrysler with the Crossfire, but at Mercedes-Benz.... at 3000 or 6 months, we do a "First Service" which is to check for any leaks and oil change. That service is free of charge and we DO NOT reset the service counter. The first service is a courtesy and we do not reset the counter so the vehicle stays on a normal service routine.
