Default Who would be interested in a affordable set of headers

Hey good evening guys. I am working out a deal with a local fabricator to develop and affordable set of headers for our car. We have decided on to versions. One in stainless and the other ceramic coated. I want your feed back on what you wuold be willing to spend and if you would be interested. The prototype is almost finished. We will have dyno numebr to show the improvement. Let me know your feedback. Thanks

There are about 5 varieties of shorty headers available, all with minimal gains. Build a set of long tubes and you'll have customers.

Keep us up to date.
I wonder if the ECU would need to be reset...

I've found that changing out a cat-back system does little for performance, but a tuned set of long-tube headers and a good CAI can do wonders, but may require a new ECU chip.

Ceramic coated will work as well as stainless and not discolor. Stainless, OTH, can be lighter.

Do keep us informed.

I know there are headers availible but they are extremly expensive. What our goal is to create a high quality afforadable option. As a fellow crossfire owner I have felt that we are being price gouged because of our cars intial purchase price and mercedes heritage

Yes, and no.

Depends on the quality as well.

And the fact that any part ANY company makes is extremely expensive to make, and the market is so low that htye have to raise the price because not many people buy them.

Well so far we have taken all the nessicary steps to make a quality piece and keep the cost down. So dont be so concerned with what other companies are doing. I just want to know if an affordable solution was proposed to you would you be interested?

Your too best options right now are Increased Primary size Log Design and stock primary tubular, both of which can be had ceramic coated for under $700.00.

If you get sets for under $500.00, you may have a few customers. If you get LT under 1k that show significant performance gains you'll have a lot of customers. 1k for LT is cheap in the high end header market.

Either way, at least you'll have a set of headers on your car.

there is a guy here on the forum who built his own long tubes, he posted pictures, I think he had togo thru a lot of trouble installing one side, so it was a partial two piece design.

would be a great prodct because both srt6 and NA car will make power from this.

I'm interested. If I'm going to fork out a thousand bucks then I want to see some performance gains. With the NA, 15 hp would be sweet. I'm sure with the TVT260+ kit it would work nicely.

We are on our way to creating both a short and long tube version of our headers. I am going to have a price estimate for you guys next week. We are also developing a full race exhaust setup

$66 / per 1 horsepower is very expensive...

for less than that you'd make more pulling the heads (good time for porting for more hp) and having them, pistons, and valves ceramic coated and pick up about 30 hp add porting and you're looking at real gains at about $30 per horsepower

Porting and coating for $900.00? That's pretty cheap.

Get me the name of your machine shop and I've got a bunch of heads they can port.
