Who would be interested in a affordable set of headers
CADD your header design and outsource it to China, the metal is cheaper there and so is the manufactuering.
full header will cost you about $300
full header will cost you about $300

For the first ten or so sets we are going to build them in house after that we are speaking about manufacturing option. The way things are progressing we are looking at also releasing a full header to tail pipe true dual exhaust system system. Things are progressing nicely but next week I might be able to post some picks. I am going to have long tube and shorty headers

What is wrong with saving money and making more profit, that is what business is all about, it is not about going into debt and going bankrupt.
Regardless, I wonder how big of a job installing headers on these cars is.

Who's out of a job?
Their job in their shop is to DESIGN and TEST the headers/exhaust system.
Once they have done that, then they see if there's a market for their product at a specific price point. That's when they sell them to us for $xxxx.
Once they know they can sell the parts to a reliable client base for $xxxx, then they send the parts off to someplace else that can build the parts for cheaper than they can, and then they sell them to us at a higher profit margin, which means that these guys sit at home and collect a paycheck for no additional work, as long as the parts continue to sell.
So, no one's out of a job.
This is what they want to do, and how they make money in the long run.

Do not bother to tell me that you are indispensable, you are not. If you work for yourself you need people to have money to pay you, no jobs equals no money for you.
Why can't the Chinese maker look at the part and say we could design, test and make those. With your philosophy the Chinese could make the Air Force new planes after being given the plans, that would save the US government lots of money and save you taxes, oh I forgot you have lost your job as well.
Your children and grandchildren have a lot to look forward to, with no decent jobs on the horizon.

This is getting dangerously personal... but I'm known to throw caution to the wind
Remember the North America Free Trade Agreement? It put a lot of textile workers in America out a job, sending these jobs to Mexico. Was this a poor decision? I think not!
If you work a job as menial as mass production of printed T-shirts, you should move to China. While they only pay a few dimes day, it gets half a billion Chinese people by. People with the opportunities we have should take advantage of the easily accessible education and numerous choices of career paths. More engineers, more technicians, more working with your brain than working with your brawn. Let the people without these opportunities do that work. They'd much rather make .25 USD a day making shoes than $.10 USD farming rice.
If you live in the USA, with all the opportunity for education and climbing the career chain of your choice, and you're making toys for McDonald's Happy Meals... I have very, very little sympathy for your forced change in employment.
Hundreds of millions of people, around the world, will give you everything they have to trade you citizenship. Why don't you move to China, where you can paint 2" statues of the latest Pixar star, allowing America to pull in this untapped Chinese and Indian spirit for skilled work and scientific advancement? You'd be just as complacent, American businesses would be able to more easily and cheaply produce their products, American citizen's dollars would go further, and American workforce would be more competitive with the developed world. (ie EU)

I am not sure who you are addressing, or what you are saying exactly. My point is that how can North America and the West survive if all the jobs that relied on skilled trades have gone overseas. You can study for any job you want so that you can use you brain, but China can put the brains of four people to work for less than it costs to use your brain. Who is going to come up with the best idea you or the four Chinese. You know what they say, four heads is better than one and if they are paid one quarter of your salary they can do the same as you using sixteen people. You may sneer at someone doing what you would call a menial task but without that they do nothing.
Not everyone can become an engineer and not everyone can be retrained. Can you turn that person who worked in the cotton mill into a person who works with his brain at a desk on a computer?
The population of the US is about 305,500,000 people, China has 1,330,000,000, So which country has the most smart people ... China.
When China decides to put a naval fleet to sea, you will see who rules the waves, you are twenty two and you will see this prediction come true, every great power falls, Greek, Roman, Spanish, British, Russian and the US.
What I say is you do not have to help them for the sake of a cheap set of headers.

wow, that thread went political and back...I am interested in a future full blown exhaust from headers to tail pipe...and guys, my wife works for a large machine shop, and they use to out source work to china because they couldn't machine the parts for a profit, now China is turning those jobs away, they now can't make any money...now, back to the headers, I will wait for photos of your build, good luck...
