Default RE: fan controll swith/ cabin fan

just another question about our cars, when getting in my car yesterday, I started it up and turned the fan on and in the defrost mode, well the fan did not go on untill the car started to warm up, about 5 minutes, then the cabin fan came on, I don't remember this happening before yesterday, I was looking through the owners manual and could not find any thing that said there is a delay feature in the cabin fan system, before it turns the fan on when the engine reaches a certain temp, I think that my fan controller switch or fan controller module, could be starting to be defective, or is this just a normall occurance, all of you other X-Fires owners in cold climate can you check and see what you car does, when you first start it, when fully cold about 10 degrees or colder, and let me know I want to get all my problems fixed under waranty, before it runs out in June of 09, but don't want to complain if it is normall. I would appreciate any feed back on this issue. I do know that there is a delay when you first start the car before the fan works and the volume on the radio goes on, but the fan took longer than normal to come on this time, and the radio worked normally

I just went through this on my XF. Your Blower Motor Resistor is going to burn out and if you don't have it replaced your Blower Motor will fry up too like mine did. The dealer wanted $1,200 to replace both plus labor. Lucky I found both on ebay for only $70. Did the replacement myself, problem solved.
