Need someone near Dallas to drive my car.
I bought a 2005 XFire N/A a couple of months ago and I can not tell if the acceleration and apparent slack in the transmission are normal or not. I have read on here that the acceleration on the XFire is kind of quirky when taking off and such, but I think I may have more of a problem than just normal performance issues.
Is there anyone that lives around the dallas area that could take it for a spin and let me know if it performs like their's does? I do not recall these issues on the other XFires that I test drove.
I would be willing to bring it to you.
Thanks,

The Throttle is "Drive By Wire" and adapts to your particular driving
style. Do a Throttle body reset.
Not sure if you have tried the throttle reset, instruction below. It makes a big difference.
The auto stick does act a little quirky, kind of a lag on downshifts, make sure the w/s switch is in s position. I am a short 990 miles north of Dallas, Some one in your area should reply soon.
1. Get in your car
2. Turn the key to the on (not start) position, the position just before the starter
turns over.
3. Press the gas pedal to the floor with the key in the "on" position.
4. Hold the pedal to the floor for five seconds, then turn the key back
to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas
pedal.
5. Wait 2 mins. for a full alignment.
6. Drive the car as you always do.

I joined CICCI a week or so ago. Please let me know of any get to gethers. I did a run through the hill country the CTC guys this past weekend and had a blast. Looking forward to get to gethers that are a little closer to Dallas.

I have tried the the throttle reset as well as disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes and neither did any good for the issues that I mentioned.
I will check for some local Dallasites and PM them to meet with me to check it out. Is anyone in the area the local guru for this car?
Thanks Again.
