Cool Shift Boot Conversion

I wonder how hard it would be to mod a 6-speed shift boot to this.
Would be nice, less of a chance to **** up hard shifts. (I went from first and almost threw it into reverse)

Can't really help you but I do have a question. Is that from an Audi R8?

I love the look of gated shifters, but from what I have heard they are worse (less precise) than regular booted shifters. I'm sure the one in the r8 is sexual though..

Maybe less precise isn't the best term.. Technically they can be more precise, but it slows down shifts. A real gated shifter is different than just that plate, the lever kind of slides from position to position (more like an auto transmission). I don't think it would work with our shifter anyway, unless the gate was tiny. Since the mod is for looks, it would look stupid with a tiny gate. I want to get a rubber accordian style boot that fits our shifter .
