ECU Tuners
Has anyone developed an ECU/EEC tuner?
I have just picked up a Crossfire and have a very specific goal of 12.95 1/4 times. Should be doable with 1 hp to 10# (very doable with 3.2 liters and 3200# with driver).
Before much can be done however, we need to get access to the EEC/ECU (whatever they are calling the main computer on these cars).
My experience has been with modifying the late model Ford CrownVic. The problem with that car is 4200#. With the ford products, I was able to work with a Ford Engineer to get access to the EEC with a slave ROM chip developed by the Mustang guys and a custom Hex file. Allowed changes to spark tables, fuel tables, MAF, trans shift points, etc. without doing a full EEC reflash (essentially the EEC pulled values from the ROM chip at startup).
I am sure someone has something like this developed given the CLK platform. Any ideas who to start contacting?

I contacted Powerchip who sent me information about their chip for the Crossfire. I posted a JPEG image of their dyno chart on my personal gallery. Take a look.
Cost is $690. Here is a link to their website:

Other than this, I don't know anything about Powerchip.

I wish I could post some of the screen captures I have. I got to spend more time getting a web site setup that I can point too.
Anyway, what I am looking for is not a 'chip', but a modifiable chip. This is essentially a ROM chip with a serial output and software to modify tables and then reupload to the ROM chip in hexidecimal form (I assume they will be using hexidecimal code).
When I find it, or write it, I will post it (don't hold your breath though, it could be a year or two given the limited time I have).
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.[/img]
