Car rolls backwards when in drive. (auto trans)
I have had my Xfire for a little over a month. No problems to report so far. Today I came to a stop sign on a hill. I came to a stop and let off the brake, the car began to roll back significantly. I got back on the brake. After accelerating, I decided to make the block and see if the problem persisted. I approched the stop sign again and again the car rolled backwards when I took my foot off the brake. It began to pick up speed and died after rolling back 10 ft or so. Anyone else experience this? I havent had any other noticeable problems.
The car is an 04, auto, 11,000 miles.

These cars have a relativly low idle speed which means the transmission is not engaged when it is stopped and ideling. As soon as you increase engine speed the transmission engages. You are virtually in neutral ideling at a stop. There is nothing to keep it from rolling backwords on a hill.
I can tell you my '04 is a "hill hugger". I notice it all the time when stopped on an upgrade. At what point(degree) it will roll back I have not noticed yet.

Interesting. Every other car I have owned (Mustang, Grand Cherokee) when left in drive on an incline they would roll back just a little then stay stationary.
My 2005 Limited Roadster with auto does the same thing. I thought most modern autos had an anti-creep feature? I, too, would appreciate any input.

I, too, would appreciate feedback on this problem.
