Default Replacement of Silver Plastic?

Hello!

I love that car, but one thing I found extremly ugly and disturbing. It is the big Silver Plastic in the cabin (middle front, dont know how it is called in english...)

Does anybody know if there is a supplier out there who offers a replacement set? Something in Black or so?

I appreciate any hint and reply!

Thanks in advance!
Stelios

There's no replacement yet. That's not to say someone won't come out with some aftermarket pieces in the future. Until then I supose you could have it painted. Although I happen to like it. It's one of the things that attracted me to the car. I love the total look!!!

To each his own.... I guess....

I would think you could put wood trim in like the SLK it looks like the interiors are exactly the same

The first time we saw a Crossfire, we didn't like the silver. But it has grown on us - and now we like it. It is also something that we have received many "Wows" about. Hopefully you will like it soon too.

you could go to a custom shop and have them make true aluminum ones or something...if you do tell them they could sell more if they are of quality

I would highly doubt this. The 2005 Crossfires are already in the computers at Chrysler, and there are no dash options, from what I saw. I also, don't think the wood interiors would look good at all. I could be wrong, who knows, and I would be happy if Chrysler did this (except for the wood dashes), but I havent seen any information on this yet. Maybe they will offer it through Mopar. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Well, CNC machine + time + money = real aluminum parts.

The question is who has access to the above?

Having sat in a good deal of SLKs, and the Crossfire on a few occasions, the cars are extremely similar. Looking at the interior photographs, it's dead obvious the cars are the same.

Being able to change out the center console with SLK bits cannot be terribly difficult, just time consuming. Take a trip to your local Mercedes-Benz dealer, they're usually incredibly accomodating -- even to tire-kickers and young sprats like myself. For someone who wants to buy expensive OEM parts, I'm sure they'd be more than glad to strike up a conversation with you. Trust me, I've been considering doing the same thing if I bite on the SRT-6.
