Default Radio changing stations on its own

Has anyone else had the problem of the radio changing stations on its own. I have this problem with one station in particular. The station it changes to isn't even close the the one that was set and to top it off it's a "Rap/R&B" station..... Not my favorite by a LONG shot!!! I've check to be sure I didn't have it set up for strongest station. It's one more thing on my list (along with the display problem) for my first service visit to the dealer.

You are really fortunate, since you can't see the face to change anyway! Read the manual and I believe there is a way to alter the sensitivity built in.

I.ve read everything I can find on the radio and set it up per the manual. And it only seems to happens with that one station and it always changes to the same Rap/R&B station. You're right about not being able to see it.... The problem is that I can hear it....

The problem with my radio is when it's in the FM1 mode, when I push button #7, the station that I have preset to that position will play but the display will still show the previous station id. Any ideas?

I am experiencing the same radio characteristics. First just 1 preset starting jumping from 106.5 to 98.5. Even if a tune the radio to 106.5 manually, it jumps. Now 2 stations are doing this.

I'm also experiecing the other related problem mentioned on at least 1 preset... after pressing the button the station changes but the display continues showing the previous station.

In my area (san francisco bay) I notice that I'm getting more PTY data then I used to... Not sure if some stations just starting transmitting PTY and if maybe this ridiculous radio (I'm not a fan) is not handling that correctly.

I have preset the station that keeps changing to several different buttons and it does the same thing every time. The station will play just fine for up to 5 minutes and then change. So far it's only that one station that does this. Strangest thing I've ever seen in a radio.

Be thankful your radios are malfunctioning. You'll be able to get the new stereo headunit with the visible display!

I can only hope that's what will happen. I'm going to wait until I bring it in for service in another 2,000 miles.

I call it ghost rider feature. My radio worked fine the first 300 miles. After that. Same thing. Annoying actually.

Very annoying.... For my wife more than me it's her station that changes. No others have that problem. I still have about 2,500 more miles before I take the car in for it's first service. I'll have a nice little list of things for the tech. by the time I take it in.

My girlfriend's crossfire is now doing this too-- jumping from, like, 10X.X station to 9X.X, which are nowhere near each other. It was jumping from classic Christmas music to R&B! It was pretty funny, but it happens every time. Did you ever get this fixed?

M 06 coupe started doing this today. Seems to randomly change the radio station.

Any ideas anyone?

Replacing is really not an option for me at the moment.

if you hit the option/alt/disp whatever its called button to get out of the audio settings, it changes one of the buttons to pty, which basically picks the strongest station in that group

theres nothing wrong with rap, its country music that needs to die

Ha, Mine did that too, changing station's. I reset mine by holding down both the power and eject buttons. Hold for a minute till it resets, and now no more problems

I thought I had Christine, radio stops and restarts after a bump, siren sounds for no reason. I took six photos with a digital camera and none came out but the pictures before and after did.
But if dents repair themselves I'll rethink my insurance.
If the radio keeps changing stations it may be that it has different tastes in music than you do, and if it changes to Oom Pah Pah music or Wagner it is just showing you its German roots.

Is this the only way to reset the stereo? I've held the buttons down for a full 2 minutes and nothing happens.

Thanks!

Judging by your Avatar and your love of HipHop (invented for people that don't know how to sing) it is you who must be the devil. HaHa, just messing w/ you youngster. I sort of get why you young folk enjoy this type of entertainment. I have son and daughter your age, but they appreciate all types of music.
