Default Xenon Lights

Hi guys,

Question regarding if its good or bad to buy a car with xenonlights... I guess the XFs don't come with xenon lights as standard. Should I be watching out for something?

i don't think so. most of us, well maybe not most, have converted to hid - xenons and love them.

I wrote that article. I love the results and recommend this upgrade to anyone. It is very easy to do yourself with basic tools and the increased night distance visibility is astounding. I'm getting older (by the day, tick-tock, tick-tock) and I really appreciate the extra reaction time it affords me.

Pictures of the results would show little, but look through my photo gallery and I have some side-by-side pics of halogen High beams running with the HID lows. The HID's are a whiter light while the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra (in the high beam, inboard) are a bit more yellow. And those are the whitest/brightest halogens I have been able to find. I've tried many different "HID/Xenon" color match halogens, but to get the whiter/bluer color, it is at the expense of lower light (Lumen) output. In essence, they look better but they are dimmer. And when I use my high beams, I want as much light down the road as I can get.

Upgrading both the Fogs and Low beams for less than $160 is a great way to go.
